Ugh, this is by far the worst thing to come down the pipe. After we got those awesome speeded up animations now we’re back to slow as molasses animations with 1.7.2.
Devs,
Can you give us a slider bar with the next release? If the fast animations are off putting for new users, set it to a reasonably slow level. But us advanced guys want these sped way up. How about a setting for this?
I don’t think it’s on purpose. Try setting the game down mid battle and wait a minute, when you pick it back up the first few moves will be quick and snappy again and then start sagging. I think they’ve got a buffer issue. Either that or they’ve hired this guy to handle the graphics.
The faster animations were one of the best improvements, why did you change it back? Who asked for that?
In case you reply that it was for the newer players, I’ll say this: we may all start as beginners, but rapidly enough we’ll get used to the system, and we won’t be beginners ever again, and at that time, you can be sure that we’ll prefer the faster animations much more.
First they speed the animations up, and you say they want them slowed down, and NOW they’ve slowed them down, and you’re all saying you want them speeded up again?
Typical. Absolutely typical.
Honestly, sometimes I think there are 2 different groups of people with different opinions about the speed the game should run at, and that both of them could be kept happy with some kind of options menu.
The general complaint was that the AI’s chain-match cascade rate happened so quickly that they couldn’t tell exactly what happened. I just played a Quick battle match to see what has been slowed down and… yeah, the wrong animations were slowed down. We only care about paying attention to what happens during a multi-chain glorious cascade where the AI keeps making successive matches after 5-swaps (eg. I just played a couple supports last turn and… which one did the AI just remove 3 shields from in a single turn?).
