Hello all,

I have a bunch of ISO piling up and can’t decide who to power up. I have most of the characters in the game, minus Psylocke, Dino, Professor, Star-lord. My 4 stars, I have Xforce/Fury/IW with 2 covers and 1 Elektra/Thor, so working on a 4 star doesn’t apply to me right now. My maxed 3 stars are Patch/Daken, with lvl 90 or higher and all covers for Doom, Hulk, Loki, Steve Rogers, Thor, Falcon, and lvl 80 or higher and all covers BWGS, Squirell, Spiderman, Rocket/Groot, Storm, Torch, Luke Cage, Magneto, Gamora, Blade, Sentry, Deadpool, Punisher, Mystique, Daredevil.

I’m trying to decide which 3 star to power up. I’ve been running Patch/3 star Daken, and Falcon or Loki mostly, and I play both PVP/PVE. I guess I’d like to pick the right character to help me get closer to earning more 4 star covers, which currently I haven’t been able to climb that high for those rewards.

Which one character do you guys think I should power up out of the toons I have in the 90/80 lvl range and all covers?

Was really looking into Hulk, Falcon, Loki, Doom, Steve Rogers, Rocket/Groot, Deadpool, Punisher, or BW Grey Suit.

My vote would be for Doom. He provides an active Black and Purple that you currently don’t have and his attack tiles will work really well with your strike tile generation of Daken and Patch.

I cover maxed Rocket & Groot not too long ago, and finally finished leveling them last week. I’ve since become a huge fan. My build is currently 4/5/4, and I love it. I’m considering a possible respec to 3/5/5, but that point is moot until I pull another blue cover anyway.

I like the other two colors too, but imho, the yellow is just about worth the price of admission on its own. It will save you many health packs over the long haul, as R&G doesn’t even need one unless downed. If you go into a fight with less than 1/4 health, get a board with a bunch of tutile.png
and a yellow match, you have instant major heal, plus a chance at a big cascade. Lowering your health pack usage even further will allow you to push higher in PvP and stay on the field longer in PvE.

I run R&G with Luke Cage and Deadpool, and that team absolutely wrecks. I’d pick the raccoon and the tree.

Would you break down what covers you have?

That’d help. Otherwise, I’d go against character rankings. I had a GREAT deal of success with Steve Rogers, XFW, and GSBW in this tourney.

Doom’s great at feeding XFW. Hulk and Patch pair extremely well but are very vulnerable to XFW (and subsequent green attacks) due to their high green ability.

If you have Daken, you have to be careful of XFW too. His black is his highest tile score, which means you get one-shot by XFW and then your next character gets one-shot as well (unless they’re also a primary black). That all happens in one turn. I’ve done it; I do it OFTEN.

Those without 13 covers, getting the rest is no problem, just can’t decide which 1 or 2 to work on maxing. I’ve leveled up these to a certain degree in which Patch and Daken could tank for them, trying to see who I like most or works best.

Thought about Hulk for the Hulk and Patch bombing as I read one of the only ways of 3* beating any 4* teams. Also thought about Doom for actives and color coverage. Gave Rocket and Groot thought for the blue strikes and health regeneration which would give me a lot of healing along Patch and Daken or eve pairing with say Hulk.

I also wasn’t sure as I try to climb pve and PvP latter’s, if I should consider benching Daken or Patch, in favor of a different 3 team combo. Not sure which way to go as those are my 2 166s, was looking to max one more to go with that duo, or also a second character who might have work well.

IW no contest she is 4*. It is women of marvel appreciation month this is the time to let the women heroes shine, dust off those heroes and put them to use. Besides i Heard in Jan. that they were working on buffing her, so any day now. MPQ is taking this month very seriously in regards to the women. constant lvl buffs to all the women heroes in each event, iso bonuses when ever the heroes are used. what ? no? well what are they doing? oh they changed cover art? they nerfed 4* thor?! I guess they are not taking it to seriously. good luck with your iso spending.

I actually like patch & loki better… Since you have the 5 black loki covers, it will make any strike tiles you have given the other team into shields… Boost green/black going in & you can take down the 4*'s

if you care about getting 4* cover progressions rewards in pvp, hulk bombing is probably your best shot right. It’s not the best combo for taking out overleveled pve nodes (loki and patch is much better for that), but hulk bombing has the virtue of being fast, which is critical in pvp.

of your cover-maxed and underleveled 3*s, lazy thor, lazy cap, doom, and loki are the best. Hulk is also useful for the sole purpose of hulkbombing. (R&G is a ton of fun to play, and I seem to have been boosted in pve a lot recently, but i think they are just too slow for competitive pvp play).

You might also consider leveling several of those 3*s to 130 or 140, rather than taking one to 166. in my experience, you will get more from both pve and pvp when you can mix and match a bit, and level 140s are generally plenty strong enough to handle 166s on pvp offense (just remember to shield or use your best defensive team at the end).

Edited as I just saw that your lazy cap is 3/4/2. Wait until blue or red is at 5 before leveling. But do so as soon as that happens. He is a pve beast, owns survival nodes, and is decent on pvp offense. In the meantime I recommend leveling lazy thor, loki, and doom (but keep loki low enough that he tanks as few colors as possible).

This guy speaks the truth. You save ~30k ISO by not hitting 166 vs 140. No. It’s more like 40k.

It used to be that 3 10K health characters was a no-no in PVP. But you can whittle that down quickly. So I wouldn’t lean Hulk Thor R&G for that aspect alone.

Hulk and Daken and Patch jive well, since they can feed Hulk’s anger well. I suggest Thor, Patch, Daken, and Hulk. They’ll be very functional, not only in PVP, but the final node in DDQ. Bump them to 140 and work on raising the roster to 140 before you worry about maxing out toons.

Thor is good, Hulk is OK, but good with Patch/Daken, Rocket and Groot is excellent at PvE.

If you’re looking to boost your pve team, patch/ldaken/doom is probably the best. If you’re looking for a solid pvp defensive team, patch/ldaken/loki is awesome with high potential for defensive wins.

I’m surprised to see a 355 patch, though, b/c his red ability can be tough to trigger at 14 colors. Additionally, if your patch is matched w/ a featured character w/ a strong red color matching value, then that reduces the number of tiles belonging to patch. When I started playing patch I had 5 red covers. But often the red attack does minimal damage b/c the featured character has patch colors, like a Sentry or Lazy Thor and therefore Patch won’t claim those color tiles.

LazyThor 3* , tons of HP and Damage, one of the top tier 3*s in game too.

I think I’ll work on raising some of these characters to 130-140 like you guys mentioned. I’d like to have more variety to play with and different tool sets to switch up depending on teams or PVE nodes I’m up against. As far as Patch, I just got his 13 covers anyway they fell into my hands, I do see from what you guys say and the Patch thread 355 as optimal. At first I was afraid to eat damage from 5 BS with the strike tiles, but after leveling Loki up a bit and using him, I could time his Trickery to be used right afer Berseker Rage and Best There Is.

I had for the longest time ran Patch, 2* Daken, and 3* Thor to good effect, then I got *3 Daken. From here on out I couldn’t decide which way was more important to go, getting someone like Doom with active black/blue/purple, or someone like Loki/Falcon who have great synergy with Patch/Daken. Then I read about the Hulk bombing with Patch. It’s also tough with any character with active blue and running Daken, as you get blue gem trolled pretty often and he starts to dwindle his health down and at the same time negating whichever blue active the other team member brings.

You guys think I should still be running Patch/Daken as my staples or should I go Patch and a couple different characters?

3* daken doesn’t quite cut it for high level pvp play nowadays. But daken and patch is a great climbing combo. You can easily get to 3 or 400 pvp points without taking any damage. I would continue using this team for that ability.

For high end pvp, you will get much better results using lazy Thor, who is probably the best 3* in the game in a vacuum (maybe iron fist is challenging for that title and Luke cage isn’t far behind).
