2026 Character Rebalances: Batch 1

He wasnt very good in the eyes of someone that loves to have contrarian takes for the sake of it, to the rest of the MPQ playing world he was very good, good enough he was already being eyed for rebalance before Sam Wilson dropped.

I don’t think “Juggernaut is fine” is a contrarian take, though? He’s old, and before Sam I really didn’t see him getting used much, and I certainly didn’t see much complaining about him.

Do you think Juggernaut needs a nerf? What would you do to him?

His use skyrocketed a bit with ascension. Before Sam 5 came along.

I guess I don’t remember then, or I didn’t see it. What were people doing with him? Would it still be good today?

Man, I just can’t win! I get yelled at when I say somebody should be nerfed, and also when I say they shouldn’t be!

Correct. Before Sam, he would be paired with either/or/both ascended Polaris and Grocket. Many forget that because once Sam came along, he was easily the best of the three. But 4 Juggs was considered the best Ascended 4 for a while even before Sam.

I suppose he would have benefitted from partnering anyone who had a strike tile gameplan. Probably pretty good with DropBears even if Sam bit the dust.

If they made it so his AoE was unable to be boosted in any way, that would surely do it, though I imagine that would also render him completely unusable? Hard to know what change to make that would solve the problem but leave him usable…

You said not very good, which is not the same as fine.

I would make it so his 225% match damage only applies to his colors, his 90% reduction would start at 40% and increase 10% for each match he makes with a max of 90%. I would lower blue to 9AP and give it a Thanoscopter lite effect…if it causes a match, he makes another match free but only once per turn. Green is fine as is.

To me this fits more functionally and thematically. It doesn’t kill his kit but it introduces more requirements to get to his “unstoppable force” vs him just hitting the ground running from turn 1.

Does the Polaris change fix that team? We also still had Thanos Copter in PvP back then, which made Juggernaut much better.

It was a joke! I tried to make it obvious!

As was my reply!

Not an avid fan of airplane like me then

They have the 1s in the “buffs” categories but they should have a “*SUPER nerfs when ascended to 5” disclaimer.

I paid $20 for my spidey and iron man 1-5s, and now they’re trash. 545 and 550 trash.

They are still better than like 80% of the actual 5 star characters in the game, they just are more in line with actual 5 stars. Doing half a million damage every turn was not normal.

I abused them myself, winning every PvP match literally in a matter of seconds, but that was not healthy for the game

Is Luke Cage’s protect tile really correct after his rebalance?

I just ran into him in the 3 star DDQ node and I used my usual fun team (rainbow powers with no supports) and I realized after a bunch of moves I wasn’t doing any damage. Then I noticed his protect tile at L166 is 900 strength! So all my match damage was doing 1 and many of my powers were doing next to nothing even with 266s. I was annoyed and retreated to bring out 1 star HE + supports to destroy that tile and winfinite that node.

I then looked at my 3A4 who is L325. His protect does 1909. Even 5 star characters at 360 can’t get more than 1 match damage against that protect tile. My 450 1A5 Juggs on his strongest color (Red) does 3K and on his 3rd does around 2100 so he’s can barely get any match damage against a 326 Cage either.

Is this really right? Are we not meant to do any match damage vs Cage teams anymore? Players below 5 star level are going to find it incredibly annoying to only do 1 match damage in battles.

Lv650 Cage in The Tower is a real doozy

Probably not intentional, but passed it on to Devs, so we’ll find out soon.

At least lore accurate

The PVE nodes all use base toons and scale them up from those numbers.

Hence the recent rebalances will impact players in those high level enemy nodes when seeing the ones that have been brought up as part of this grand vision. Obviously it’s much more noticeable when the levels are high like 650.

Waaaaaay back in the day the players had to show the devs how their scaling up of enemies in relation to your roster ended up with insanely hard nodes for 5* players so the devs eventually had to introduce SCLs partly for that reason.

In any case, 2 Cap, 3 Cage and 3 Deadpool nodes where they happen could end up being like this unless they rethink some things. Making base 3s stronger for players to use has second order effects when those toons are leveled up, not as ascended toons, but scaled up base stats, in various nodes.

Sub 2 of OSS has the following 3* toons: Strange, 3 Cap, Vision, Switch

Also 2 Hawkeye, 2 Torch, 2 Cap.

The 2Cap is much stronger than the 2 HE in the same node (3E).

2 cap: 226089 health. 2239, 1985, 1736 strongest match dmg Cap red power: 605999 dmg

2 HE: 165237 health. 1109, 983, 861 strongest match dmg HE red power: 26771 dmg

Both are level 615.
