25 Episodes

So we’ve played 3 out of the 25 planned Episodes (Red ISO, The Hunt, Indestructible Hulk)

If they release one Episode a month that means almost 2 years of MPQ to go, I can’t recall any game other than World of Warcraft and EverQuest that held my interest for that long

I hope they keep things interesting in the months to come.

Interview with Demiurge CEO Albert Reed:
http://drinkingcoffeecola.blogspot.com/ … e-ceo.html

This is your first post in 2 weeks and you are all sunshine and rainbows about the prospects for the game? Did you not read a single other post on any of the boards…?

I’d be surprised if this game lasted 6 episodes at this point.

Lol, last comment on the blog is ‘Ragnarok is one cheap-ass punk’. Wonder if he still thinks that

Interesting they have such a long story arc, I assume they intend to rollout new characters with each arc. By that time though, the Dark Reign storyline in the comics should be well over.

I wonder if they intend to replay older arcs though, or just make them available permanently for those who have started later?

Oh I have, but as someone who has played many online games I’ve learned to not get too attached to any one character, and believe me I’ve spent plenty of money of this game as well

Yes Ragnarok got nerfed, and I wouldn’t be surprised if other nerfs are coming, that’s the nature of these types of games

Everyone has a right to voice their opinion so am not knocking anyone for their displeasure with the nerf, but can anyone honestly tell me that MPQ as we know it is unplayable and no longer fun because they nerfed Ragnarok?

Should I no longer look forward to upcoming content cause of the change to Ragnarok?

It was not my intention to turn this into another Ragnarok thread but I guess it’s heading that way

Let’s see how you react when Magneto’s red costs 12 and his blue costs 16 icon_lol.gif

I’d be fine with it, I’ll start using Invisible Woman icon_e_confused.gif

All negativity aside, that was a really nice interview.

Though I’m sure this Q/A would irk some people just about now:

As you mentioned above, when the game loads up, the words “Preview Edition” are clear to see. Can you tell me exactly what that means? Is that another term for “beta”, and if so, what does that mean for players who’ve invested time and money?

It means there remain big system changes that we intend to make. We want to be upfront with players that characters might still be rebalanced and that there are important new features coming. “Beta” implies the product isn’t fully tested but this one is. What remains is listening to our players and responding to their feedback. As I said, we’re very close!

It’s the extremeness and lack of game balance shown in the nerfing. The developers have now demonstrated that they are completely clueless for the proper way to balance a game.

They should have made a more minor chance to Rags, and only after they gave buffs to the weaker characters.

As it stands, it looks like all the top ten characters will be severely nerfed, and they will keep weakening the characters until Aunt May can beat them up. But due to lack of developer interaction here, on top of extremely poor recent decision making, there isn’t much indication that the game will be around much longer.

Few if any at all have said the game is no longer fun. They are threatening to quit because they’ve totally lost trust in the game. Two entirely different things.

I was affraid these were the kinda post I’d find here now last week I said if things didn’t start changing for the better players would bail. Last week I was wrong this week it looks like I was right. Now does everyone see why I was so persistent in my complaint

I want this game to make it I used to enjoy it a lot. I admitt to playing 8+ hrs in a day serval days a week to playing just for the daily resupply

The dev say there’s big changes coming but if they are not listen to the forums or any kind of player input they are missing out there’s a lot of good ideas floating around this forum See ya next week maybe

Back on topic. I think I will come back if I notice new PvE missions and go through the story. Hopefully I won’t be sucked back in and will be strong (hero wise) enough do the missions. Back off topic. You ask if the nerf on rags makes the game not fun anymore. I would say it has been getting less fun and the nerf is the last straw. Of course it could be that the game is lots of fun without everyone equalized by having high level over powered rags. Will be interesting to see what you guys think but I am for sure taking a break.

I just don’t want to play Russian roulette tile cascading with the AI for 10+ turns every match.

Pretty different from “why can these casual noob scrubs beat me I’m so hardcore the best xxxsniper420xxx” ala Necrofessor.

My main problem is and has been a points system based on lazy play

I never complained about noobs unless they play lazy

Nerfing rags with no heads up show how little the dev pay attention

Match making is just a joke. 3 max lvl for 8 points. Come on

Dev intrest in forums seems nonexistent. I mean the list goes on But noobs actually winning wasn’t one

I can see expressing an unpopular opinion can make you forever hated. Even if I did turn out correct in saying these problems will start to hurt the game. But it didn’t and won’t stop me. Thank you for you time

I thought you were leaving the forums? If nerfing rags hasn’t pissed people off you’re constant whining sure will. Thank you for your time

Does it bug anybody else how criticism to the game, constructive or not, causes people to be negative towards that person? Been like that since forums were invented… But let me remind everybody what it sounds like:

“This game sucks, it’s pissing me off”

“You’re a douche and you’ll die alone”

Trolls are trolls, people. At least argue in context.

Forums were not invented so people can whine and complain, constructive or not. If you don’t like the game why play it? If your logic is “I’ll complain so the devs see I’m dissatisfied” then shame on you for not using your head.

A history lesson!!! Why were forums invented? I assumed it was to bully people (based on what I see).

Forums were made to trade porn(obviously), sometimes research and military information.

For your benefit seeing as how you don’t know which posts are being referred to, I will summarize.

Other guy start posting about how he doesn’t like rubberbanding etc. Fine, if people express their opinion it’s whatever, whether I agree or disagree I respect that and maybe comment to encourage conversation.
But in those same posts he starts going on about how he’s so much better than other forum people and “casuals”. Which is pretty funny since in a game like this everyone basically plays at the same level IMO.

I was just pointing out that this and that are not the same thing-- calling for the game to be a straight up timesink = rewards (which does not seem to echo what the people on this forum want) is not equivalent to the dev absence, surprise nerfs and point system borking(which seems to be deliberate now) etc.

Dark reign is long gone. It all ended with Siege in 2010.

Would be nice to see a cut down version of older arcs added as chapters after the prologue.
