If I ascend 3* Iron May to a 5*, is she worth it or does she lose that nice bonus damage she receives when ascended to 4*?
While your welcome to do your own research on if its worth it, the general consensus is
NO! Don’t ascend 3* May to 5*.
you loose a lot more punch on the powers for a meaningless amount of health (consider that the avg asc May match last 1-3 turns)
Thanks, that’s what I figured.
Most leave her parked at 370 after ascending to 4* because her passive yellow power gets worse when ascended to 5* land.
There is a defensive world where you might want to have her ascended, however, I would agree with leaving her at 4star since all of her value is based off of her overpowered yella. I believe the drop is from 150% match damage to 70%, 200% ability to 75% and 25% max health to 12% (the half health boost is also reduced).
Your best bet is likely to ascend her when you have a backup 3 or 4star version, you can have both the 4 and 5 star. In the meantime, focus on a 3star that makes more sense to ascend, Namor etc.
Have you seen what happens with a 4star May, 3star Namor and Ascended MBaku? It is absolutely disgusting. You can get your 50 Sim wins in like 10 mins and no health packs using two 3 or 4 stars.
I only need about 20 shards and I can ascend her to 4* and I’ll let her level to 370 naturally and just leave her there.

Because I will never use a 4* for anything (non essential, anyway) and I want all the characters at 550.
In general if you’re asking “should I ascend X,” the answer is “no,” though. The fact that you’re asking the question at all basically answers it for you.
That’s just dumb and completely wrong! Had I not asked the question I would not have known whether or not she loses her bonus damage that she gains upon ascending her to a 4*, which was the whole point of the question.
Had she retained the bonus damage, then the answer would’ve been YES instead of no.

Uh, sorry! I didn’t see that you were unaware of the change (I thought that was common knowledge at this point!).
I thought you knew she changed and were asking if you should ascend her despite that.
