I am playing 4* She-Hulk PvP using Polaris and BRB.
Typically when a Protect tiles is about to be created while making a match, it matches the protect tile. However, when She-Hulk Blue CD creates the protect, I’ll see the animation of the protect being created on my match, the match resolves the the protect tile is left behind, which also does not trigger Polaris’ passive
Edit: You also do not generate AP
Reading her Blue power it seems like it’s working correctly.
The protect gets made after the match gets resolved because that’s what does the damage that causes the protect to get made. That’s why the protect is left after the match is complete.
It appears the animation flash is slightly out of order causing you to think the protect is being placed on the tiles you matched rather than on the tiles left behind after the match.

Thanks for checking, but missing out on 1 AP because of the order of operations of the power does not seem like their intended approach when they built this character
If you look carefully when this happens, the tile that gains the protect is not removed when other tiles from the match are.
