So this is a long one, but I wanted some “educated opinions” on the following:

PROBLEM:
Which 4star should I favorite next?
Which 3star should I favorite now?
Who should I spend CP to “buy” a cover on?
Who should I wait out Heroes for Hire on?

FACTS:
I have XF Wolvie, Invisible Woman, and Thoress champed already.
I have all three stars champed.
I have 121 CP at the moment.
I have 6855 HP at the moment.
I have 100k ISO at the moment.
I have a full 2star farm.
I have all 4stars rostered (if they don’t appear below, they have less than 9 covers).
Assume that all 3star characters are within 20 covers of their next 4star champ reward, all of which will reward the first cover except for the following, who will reward their second 4star cover:
(Thor, Cap, Patch, GSBW, Hulk, Hood, Cyc, DP, IM40, BP, LC, R&G, Falcon, KK, Carol, Doom, Loki, Storm, SW, Pun).

“WITHIN REACH” 4STARS:
Peggy (4/3/3)
Rulk (4/2/4)
Carol (5/2/4)
Nick (5/4/2)
XFDP (2/3/5)
SpiderGwen (3/4/3)
StarLord (3/3/3)
Coulson (2/5/5)

SUMMARY:
I currently have Rulk and Peggy favorited and was planning on Rulk being my next 4star champ as Thor is at 216 and rewards Rulk RED and Thanos is at 177 and rewards Rulk PURPLE. I was going to spend my 120 CP to “buy” Rulk GREEN and be done with it. Have him favorited as I was hoping for a Rulk GREEN to save the CP. I have Peggy favorited because she’s Peggy. My current 3* favorite is only Thor for this reason (Thanos is in the vault so I still get his covers).

In the past week, I’ve pulled 3 Carols and 3 Coulsons and it has be “re-thinking” things. I also hear good things about XFDP competing with 5stars.

GOAL:
I want to start competing in PVP. I currently get the 575 10 CP every event, but never even try for the 900 4star reward as I don’t have chance. I currently max out progression in PVE, as well. With that in mind, what would you do to get a more competitive team OFFENSIVELY and DEFENSIVELY in PVP as quickly as possible?

As far as the rest, leave your favorite 4s where they are, and keep only your target 3s favorited.

If you want to compete in pvp, Peggy is a great way to start. Rhulk is decent, but more so when he’s powered up. If you really want to be competitive, you need 2 or more 4s powered up and champed. So it’ll be a while before you can. Get that Carol champed, she will help as well.

I would do Star Lord.

Reasons:
He has no covers at 5 I don’t ever recommend someone at 5 so you don’t get wasted covers (or I would recommend Deadpool)
He’s one of the better of your short list.
There’s gonna be a Guardians event soon and there’s a good chance he’ll be boosted during that.

Personally my order for your 4s would be fav Peggy and Peggy only, then once you have her covered switch the fav over to either Starlord or Rulk. Sit on your ISO as best you can, spend only to rotate 2s in your farm or to bring up 4s to winnable levels in Crash of the Titans. I don’t know if you’ve been leveling either, but assuming you haven’t it takes over 300k ISO to get a 4 from start to champ. Bank your ISO until Peggy or Carol can be champed, then bump them up. If you get up over 300k ISO and you still don’t have them covered, I’d drop the CP to bump Peggy up to 13 covers.

Peggy and Carol are the best on your list, but Carol is still in the token pool so you’re likely to get her covered just from Crash of the Titans and random pulls before she can cycle out. Peggy just cycled out and she’s easily in the top 5 4*s, and there’s a good case for her being #1. Her and Thoress will be your bread and butter for a long time, especially paired with IM40. Plus Carol, while boss on her own, does best when paired up with count-down and special tile generators, which you don’t really have just yet.

Starlord and Rulk are great choices for your fav after Peggy. Starlord is more a PVE character than PVP, but he’ll put your party into overdrive in goon matches. He’s usable in PVP if the required character has cheap, spamy powers like Iron Fist, Loki, or Psylock, but he’s also squishy for a 4* and his purple and red are decent, but nothing really special. Rulk is bonkers when boosted. 14k AoE for 18 green with gas on his purple. Downside is he’s incredibly dull to play unless it’s a mirror match. Unboosted he’ll shred early PvE matches, but he’s not someone people will field unboosted (unlike Peggy, Carol, or Medusa).

The rest of your short list are on the unremarkable side. XFDP is great with XFW, but only when one of them is boosted, and only a real threat when both are boosted. Colson is fun but he’s the poster boy for support characters and you need more core go-tos right now. Cage is cool, his red is bonkers against non-special tile teams, but those are increasingly rare these days. The only other thing I can personally say is Nick might belong at the bottom of the list. I’ve had him covered for literally years now and I’ve never been in a position where I felt he would be the right choice to champ. His blue is scary, but that’s all he’s got going for him.
