BSSM negates strike tiles, no matter how much they are buffed. I use him often. If a strike tile is buffed to 800 (OML + PunMax) , it would still be 1, 100% is 100% (to a min of 1, so really 99.99999%). PX could buff the tile to a strength of 30,000.. and it would still be negated completely (well, down to 1) at 5 purple with BSSM
Maybe Malcrof can confirm, does it work the same way when BSSM and PMax are swapped?
Or, another way of asking, is the order of operations always the same, or does the game have a weird way of holding the player bonus in “reserve” til the end?
e.g.: Strike tile 100
Player (BSSM) vs AI (PMax)
calc Punisher bonus: +25
Apply AI PMax bonus: 100+25 = 125
Apply player BSSM Bonus = 125*.01 = 1
Player (PMax) vs AI (BSSM)
calc Punisher bonus: +25
Apply AI BSSM Bonus = 100*.01 = 1
Apply Player Pmax bonus = 1+25=26
…And for the next question… what about order of operations with Falcon/Doc Oc?
100 strike tile… BSSM reduces to 100*.01 = 1
Falcon adds +50… Do we get:
(100 + 50) * .01 = 1
100*.01 + 50 = 51
???
Or when Elektra steals, when is the penalty removed?
100*.01 = 1, stolen for 1+100 = 101
Or does she steal the full 100, then add 100, for a total of 200?
Does Ant-Man steal a 1 strike, or a 100?
When Loki converts to protect, do they retain any strike penalty, or does that go out the window?
If your opponent has a 5 cover BSSM, don’t bother with strike tiles, it is a passive, i used BSSM the entire pun PVP, and a few opponents did as well, the second a strike is placed , it is adjusted, w/ pun, adjusted up, w/ opponent BSSM, adjusted down.
Falcon, Doc Oc, ProfX, Electra and Phoenix change the base value of the tiles. This is a one-time, permanent change not tied to a damage event. Similarly, stealing tiles is not tied to a damage event. The owner changes when the effect resolves.
Punisher, BSSM and Venom change the effect of special tiles. When calculating a damage event, the base values of special tiles are added up, then the total value is altered by one or more of the passive abilities. The order they’re applied requires testing, but I’d wager that the effects are layered one over the other, not collected separately and then added. BSSM with fewer than 5 purple covers would be needed to be sure of the answer, as his 100% reduction hides certain values.
Strike tile of 100 is boosted 25% to 125 (Pun) then reduced 100% to 1 (BSSM)
OR
Strike tile of 100 is reduced 100% to 1 (BSSM) then boosted 25% to 1.25 (Pun) which rounds down to 1
And if he’s reducing by less than 100%, the order (between shadowy acrobatics and weapons expertise) doesn’t matter because we’re (very likely) multiplying.
