activating controlled cards

Can you do it?

I used Welcome to the fold to steal a werewolf, that transformed with Activate1. After a couple of turns I hit the gem, but it didn’t transform.

Is that a control bug?
Can only the caster transform it?
Or the old ‘forgotten about the activation gems’ bug that’s been around for a while and is very annoying.

Anyone else managed to transform stolen cards?

Not just transform. The activate doesn’t change ownership it seems. Not sure what would happen if the opponent triggers it. It will even reappear and still not have effect if you hit it again.
