I don’t know who needs to hear this but MPQ has a match damage problem with all the ascension power creep, and supports exploits. This is a match 3 based game that has mechanics that kill you before you can match 3. What is the point in playing now when you don’t even have a chance to make a match. Between this issue and all the bugs I’m surprised that this game still exists.
It’s not a coincidence this gets posted when Mbaku is boosted ![]()
Gonna be a rough week. I wasn’t aware that literally every single player gets issued a 550 M’Baku upon downloading the game.
Luckily he only gets boosted like once every 3 years or something.
Definitely will help with Simulator! ![]()
I’m surprised it’s not a weekly occurrence with the 3@5s in the lightning rounds.
The team are looking into this with Mbaku and if any action is taken, I’ll share that info!
This might just be me but with everything else going wrong with this game, M’baku is so far down the list I can’t even see him. I see no reason to even cursory look at this while other items still need fixing. JMHO.
I mean…last week it was Namor, and every third week or so it’s Hawkeye…
Incredible how many base-550 unboosted Purple Man I see out there simply to offset the turn-one infinite turns garbage.
Remove supports and it removes that problem, leaving only…many more.
There are far larger problems than Mbaku. We run Mbaku in Sim because the mirror is a turn 1 fight. It’s a friendly choice. Take out the toxic stuff first.
Good to hear it’s being looked at.
While others are right that there are bigger balance anomalies, M’Baku is still not creating the effect that was intended. He’s supposed to incentivise building a Wakanda team, but I only ever see him used with unaffiliated characters like Namor.
I hope that we do get a bunch of balance changes all together in a few months. As much as there’s always backlash at nerfs I think this sort of game needs its meta shaken up twice a year to avoid player bleed from boredom. Bored players will rarely be quite as vocal about quitting as frustrated ones but they could number many more.
Forgive the double post, I’ve been pondering on the red.
It’s essentially a percentage boost of x+Ny+Wz where N is missing health and W is number of Wakandans on team.
To work as an incentive to run a second Wakandan (given M’Baku himself is the first) on the team it has to give a bigger boost than running Iron May. If I understand how Iron May’s boost works (which I’m not confident that I do) this means that 2(x+Ny+z)<x+Ny+2z must be satisfied. This cancels down to x+Ny<0, which makes for a wholly broken character.
Is this as close as we will ever get to a mathematical proof that Iron May is broken?
I tried it where X is hamburgers, Y is Banks, and Z is trains. The math holds up.
This is where your opinion does not meet facts. It is not that I have zero imagination. It is that by far he is the fastest way to win, especially in Sim. Not sure why you have to go to “because they have zero imagination”. I have plenty of imagination but, let’s be honest, the game does not incentivize imagination. Please don’t take your assumptions and try to make them facts.
You, personally, may feel it is because people have no imagination. But this game definitely rewards you for certain teams/players to make the game easier. No need to dismiss players because of that.
As someone who’s just starting his second M’baku, I am fully onboard the “nerf M’baku” train if that is deemed necessary.
There are plenty of other 4s to focus on.
Its much simpler than that.
Each extra Wakandan only gives 15% match damage boost while May is giving more than 100% herself (esp as a 3A4). Obviously 15% < 100+%.
If they really wanted MBaku to be run with Wakandan’s they’d change the base part of his power (300% at 5 covers) to be something like 200% + 100% per Wakandan on the team so 1 more Wakandan would get him to 400% which is in line with May and 2 more would exceed hers. The 200% boost to other Wakandans would help them too making such teams way more viable since other Wakandans could cover the other 3 colors.
KGB
Is that simpler?
100% increased ability damage means double all of M’Baku’s bonus damage, right? Including z, the 15% for being a Wakandan himself. I also omitted to include the flat 80 on that side calculation.
If my understanding is correct, and it may not be, no matter what you set z to, you’re still going to get 2z in the formula just by having May so you’ll never have a situation where M’Baku’s match damage isn’t at least as good with May instead of a Wakandan.
Funny, there is one week in like 4 years he’s OP and you immidiatly want to nerf him
But the lagging and freezing can’t be fixed in month
But go on, drive away more players, won’t effect revenue at all… Oh wait, it actually does!
The onus isn’t on me to find the fastest team. I countered your argument of “zero imagination”. It’s not up to me to find a faster team. You enjoy arguing by deflecting but I’m not going to fall for that.
I don’t understand what you’re saying.
That’s ok. You don’t have to. You asked me how I know it’s the fastest team. And that wasn’t the question we were discussing at all. If you still think everyone has “zero imagination” I can’t help that. I was trying to say that it isn’t “zero imagination” at all but you went down a different path. Which, from many years of watching your arguments, you enjoy doing. Don’t answer the question or argument but deflect and go somewhere else. That’s all.
