I have the same thing happen. I’m not sure what device your using but what I do is one of two things. I either bring up my recent applications and swipe away MPQ which closes it or I Force close the app so it doesn’t continue to run. If I forget to do either of these I have an app called “Clean Master” that notifies me that MPQ is using too much CPU and asks if it wants me to close it. Never had this issue before the last update. Hopefully one of these methods can at least keep you from rebooting your phone every time.
Push the home button to access application manager and like Buckeye said “swipe away MPQ” or force close it.. should start working on the 2nd try. I do this at least 4 times a day. If you’re using an apple it’s the same process used when closing apps that may be running in the background. Long story short is you don’t need to restart your phone, just somehow force close the game.
I just use Advanced Task Killer (Free) which will force close everything non-essential. I use this regularly to quickly reset the game to refresh alliance chat and also to fix the problem you’re experiencing.
I’ve been having similar issues since R55. I’m on Android 2.3.5 on an HTC Inspire.
What I am seeing is that if you force-close MPQ, then you can get it to start. However, I am having an issue that if I don’t reboot my phone after playing MPQ, then when a phone call comes in, the phone will go black and lock up, very similarly to how you are seeing the game not start.
Something is not being closed properly when MPQ exits normally since the last client patch.
