With scaling turn on for the event many said they could not reach the level they needed since early grinding force the levels up to insane levels. Just wondering if D3 was thinking of rerunning the event or if it should even be reran.
(personally i run 3 star falcon anyday over 4 star)
A couple of points: turning on scaling does not affect all players equally. The experiences of someone with a veteran roster, vs. a transitioner vs. a gimped PvE-specific roster, are all different.
Secondly, you’re forgetting that a lot of Android users were locked out during a crucial point in the event. Someone in my alliance was fighting for top10 when the bad patch hit, and by the time he got back in and was able to finish, he didn’t even make top20.
And then there are those of us not even given the option. If I refuse an update more than twice, it force-updates, so there’s not even a way around it. If the update is borked, I’m borked, whether I want to be or not, because a forced update takes away my ability to choose.
I only came 3rd in the event and I’m positive that scaling had something to do with it. Please rerun the event with scaling turned off and/or compensate me with the Faptain cover I missed by not being t2.
Just for the fact that it affected people on first shards more than the later ones is alredy enough to say it wasnt a “fair” bug. If it was during a sliceless event like Ultron they yeah, but wasnt the case.
On android, there are a few settings that come into play. You can have auto update set to on (which I do) but I only allow auto updates when on Wifi. So the patch was released when I was on 4g LTE, and both Google and within the app prompted me to update (It said, Skip or Update now, i believe). I skipped it since I wasn’t on wifi and lucky for me it was a borked patch. But, when I got home and connected to wifi, it auto installed the patch.
Guess its a lesson to avoid updates during tournaments
I should probably turn off auto updating too lol
Edit: On my Galaxy S6, at the top right of the Marvel Puzzle Quest Google Play store page, is an ellipses. Select that and uncheck ‘auto update’
About that, I always leave EVERYTHING, be it on my phone or computer, to NOT auto-update. Ever. Some stuff (read almost everything) I even dont want to know when there is a new update. When I ‘tab’ MPQ and come back I always see the message to update and I can skip it countless times until that update is necessary to keep playing.
The Carnage Event bug was WAY worse than this, completely hosing people using IOS devices over all. I placed top 2 with a level 50 roster, and not having the 4 star essential, and I suspect part of it was due to being in “newbie” brackets, but part of it was definitely the IOS competitors being hosed.
