Hello Alpha Wolves (did you guys know that’s what the AW stands for in the alliance name?
)
As I mentioned on alliance chat earlier, there will be some changes to how the alliance is going to work from the upcoming season onwards. As you guys know, the alliance has got to a point where we are falling off top 100 more often than it is comfortable. While this is mainly caused by having some of our strong players leaving mid-season, we really shouldn’t be in a position to have to be relying on high scorers to take us into top 100 in the first place, and the whole alliance should be sharing the load more evenly.
I know we’ve been quite lenient with the point requirement for the alliance. Our founding members were strong players who could pull in enough points to pull the rest of the team to top 100 even with some members constantly under-scoring. However, right now all the founders have retired from the game or have moved on to more competitive alliances, and we need to get more serious about enforcing the rules if we want this alliance to stay relevant.
Having discussed with the other commanders, this is the kind of position that I would like us to take as a team:
- Everyone MUST be getting at least the minimum score every PvP event. It’s okay to miss one or two in the season due to personal reasons, but everyone should be aiming to hit minimum score at the very least
- We should be earning enough points to hit top 100 even with 19 or 18 people playing. Ideally we should have everyone playing, but we need to have an internal safety margin, rather than scrambling for mercs every couple of events
- Our season score throughout the season should be within top 100. I understand that you can play the Simulator to get a score boost close to the end of the season, but every other alliance is also thinking that. Again, it is a safety margin that we should have internally without having to scramble for extra points at the end of the season
So, in order to accomplish the above goals, these are the new rules that will come into force (actually, they aren’t so much new rules, but more of an expansion of our existing rules):
- The alliance will be more actively replacing the lowest scoring member, based on their season score and average event score, even if we are hitting top 100. This is because low-scoring members put a strain on us for the season score. In order to keep track of average scores, I’ll be making a record of post-event scores every event from now on
-
Our minimum score is 600, but this shouldn’t be taken as the average score that you should be getting. Your average score depends of course on your roster and how much time and resources you are willing to put in the game, but it should be higher than 600. With a decent 3-star roster, it takes around 2 or 3 30-minute sessions in order to get around 600 points, so even if you’re busy, it’s just over an hour of your free time spent every 2-3 days. I think this is a reasonable amount of minimum effort to put into this game if you want to benefit from being in a top-100 alliance
-
Again, this is a repeat of our existing rule but if you do have to take an event off, due to holiday abroad without internet or the wife having a baby or whatever, please tell us in advance in alliance chat or this thread so we know in advance and merc out your spot if necessary

This isn’t something I can enforce but more of a suggestion. Everyone should be playing Simulator throughout the season, rather than trying to leave it all in the last week. If you see a downtime between events, you should be hitting the Simulator to pass the time. The extra ISO you earn never hurts
I guess that an easy way to look at it is that we should be aiming to be a “top-75” alliance, rather than just skirting around the top-100 threshold. Until we can achieve this as an alliance, I will be keeping recruitment open and replacing the lowest scoring member. I will try to give advance warning to people if I see them underperforming and likely to be replaced, but everyone should understand that they could be replaced at anytime if they are at the bottom of the season leaderboard.
I hope everyone agrees this is a reasonable cause of action. I like to think of us as a pretty casual alliance with moderate expectations of our members, but unless we can hit top-100 consistently then there isn’t much of a point to be a top-100 alliance at all. If anyone has any thoughts on these new rules or if you have additional comments, please let me know here or in the alliance chat.
Cheers guys, and let’s do our best for the next season
