Began the morning at just under 300 mana crystals. I resolved to opening a big box today… so like any responsible father, I neglected my children and proceeded ton grind out every stupid uncompleted story mode adventure to scrape together 600 crystals.

I shall go forth and claim my uncommons… and be sad. I may return… assuming I don’t throw my phone across the room from bad packs.

Definitely a disappointment. At least I finally got the Somberwald Alpha.

It wasn’t really worth it, and I’d be pissed if I spent actual money… but I had fun chasing some of those terrible missions.

Every time I would get to ~300 crystals I’d just give up and go for the fat pack.
I’ve reached the point where i can’t get anymore random crystals. Yet all my decks are still basically useless. Overall after opening about 10+ fat packs I’ve got 4 mythics and they’re all useless.( Chandra’s ignition)
Much rather get the rares.

I also saved up for a big box and my luck was worse. 70 cards: 8 rares, 0 mythics. 2 of the rares were the same. (2 more were dupes.)

Definitely worse than any fat pack I’ve opened.

I spent 600 crystals last night for No mythics & 3 rares…only 3 rares what a joke, sometimes I think this game is rigged against me

With the much higher volume of mythics from fat packs than boxes, it’s speculated that the development team either accidently switched draw rates for fat packs and boxes, or accidently entered in the wrong values for the box.

Out of the 23 Fat Packs I gathered info on, there was 15 mythics. Out of the 8 or so boxes I’ve seen people post about, most people got no mythics, and 2 claim they got 2 mythics.

Surely the company wouldn’t post “Maximum mythic and rare chances” on a package that had in fact lower chances purposefully. Although, I suppose that all the statistic gathering possible wouldn’t be enough evidence to support a real claim, and they don’t post the stats in game, so they could get away with it and wouldn’t ever get caught unless someone on the inside was disgruntled.

In its simplest form, the drawing of a rare or mythic might be the same at the individual card level and that statement would remain true if it’s relative to the amount of cards one acquires at the rate they purchased it.

E.g.

• A basic booster is only 3 cards compared to a booster’s 5 cards. Thus you have more chances to pull that rare or mythic by virtue of the extra 2 cards you draw.
• At 200 mana, you’re purchasing 20 cards from a FP instead of the 16.67 cards you would have gotten if you spent that mana on boosters at the booster-rate. More cards, more chances.
• At 600 mana, you’re purchasing 70 cards from a BB instead of the 50 cards you would have gotten if you spent that mana on boosters at the booster-rate or the 60 cards you would have gotten at the FP-rate. Again, more cards means more chances.

Ambiguous quantifier/qualifier is ambiguous.

You should’ve saved up to buy the new planeswalkers…

I just hit 610 crystals last night. I’m too apprehensive to purchase a second big box so I shall wait until the next patch comes out. If there no new planeswalkers to purchase, I will likely take the plunge.

Raidan - I wouldn’t.

They are hoping to catch us off guard with new walkers. You are already a top performer, and will earn more from high placement than you will through big boxes. You will feel angry when you open that box to find 8 rare duplicates. Resist the urge. There is no need to give in to them!

And who’s to say that we will even see a new card set in the next few months? Say they drop it in 2 months. You would have had plenty of time to nearly complete the collection through high placement, daily rewards, etc. If they had released a new card set, then taking the plunge (might?) be worth it. Do yourself a favor. Take a natural 20 for a willpower check, and just wait it out.
