The character sounds interesting, but I don’t see any references to new modes: seems like Beast is going to be released in a PvE rerun like usual.

It sounds like no new (non-Dark Reign) story until October at the earliest?

I wouldn’t get your hopes up too much: green is the most contested color in the game, his blue is probably going to be mediocre like defense grid if it doesn’t either cost less than 6 and/or have a 1 turn CD, and I doubt his yellow is true healing. We’ll have to see what the numbers look like on the abilities, but just the fact that his main offensive ability is green (which is bad since theres too many good green guys) and his yellow ability is healing (which is bad since yellow is a desired color but non-true healing abilities are generally not very playable as She-Hulk green indicates) doesn’t bode well for him.
They really should redo green so that it isn’t the best offensive color in the game by a huge margin. It seems to me they define green as ‘damage plus positive side effects’, without realizing that damage plus side effects is generally by definition the best thing you can get.
His first two abilities seem cool, but they really need to stop making characters with “healing”. As it is now, it’s an incredibly situational ability that merely buys you time. It is not something you purposefully build towards. Like, without having seen his full setup, is easy to know that you want to go 5/5/3. That’s a bit sad.

It is said the next PvP right after the end of the PvE will be beast featured.
Does that mean we’ll only be able to get covers from the PvE ?
Usually we can win more in a PvP as well.
I thought the general pattern of a new character goes like:
- New character released in PvE.
- PvP event featuring said character shortly after.
- PvP event awarding said character shortly after that.
well…his blue sounds promising at least. From what I read, looks like he can create all the special tiles. Hopefully they’re not watered down, pathetic versions. It would be great to have a strike, protect, and attack tile generator all in one character.
That was the way they were running things around Season 2 or so lately they’ve swapped 2 and 3.
Usually the pvp directly after the pve release awards him, which then is followed by the event featuring him.
How his character art and abilities makes me feel.
The picture in the article makes me think he’s posing for some avatar speedo calendar.
I don’t like the “cat” version, so I’m happy.
I don’t like modern tags on art that isn’t modern, so I’m unhappy. That should be Classic Beast if anything. Definitely not Original for sure.
