Yes, yes, there are still things we can quibble about. And it’s not like heroics are my favorite event type - by a long shot. But I really, really appreciate the improvements to this event! Clearly D3 has been listening and taking action to make one of the worst things about the game better. So: thank you! Thanks for making it better!
Agreed. Still not my favorite event, but the allowed roster had some synergy for once, there were extra heroes available for the sub events, allowing more people to participate, sub events allowed for reasonable scaling…all in all probably the best heroic event I’ve participated in. Shame it’s for something as lame as squirrel girl, but you can’t win me all ![]()
Like I said on the event page, I think it’s probably the least bad heroic ever, but that means it’s at a level with the worst-non-heroic events.
The subs are a good addition, but 5.5 days is too long for a heroic. This would have been better had it gone 36-24-24 rather than 36-48-48.
Definitely agree that this has been the least bad heroic to date.
I feel as though it’s too long, but I feel that almost every event seems to drag on a bit too much for my tastes. I’ll play for a day or 2 and then get bored. PvP isn’t too bad, since I can come back to some retaliations worth big points - this means I can finish in the top 25 without too much effort at all. PvE doesn’t really have the same; although since I’m not in a remotely competitive alliance, maybe I should just start joining PvE’s in the last 30-45 minutes.
It’s definitely a big improvment over the old ones, but the scaling is pretty kitty ridiculous. 300+ DAs are not fun even without the roster restriction, much less when they’re restricting the featured characters to not have anyone that is able to tank worth a feline
The extra characters to use for each sub is quite welcome even if none of them were any good besides Captain America in the first sub. I think the new guys only felt useless because you started with HT and Blade, and while both can’t tank at all they can all do a ton of damage. Unfortunately having good characters likely drives up the scaling too, though it’s hard to complain when you got multiple Flame Jets burning for 3-4K each.
It’s not so much a matter of the community scaling driving it up, as it starting at stupid values to begin with (IIRC, overwatch was like 265 ~3 refreshes in, (when I woke up)). And while cap is a good person on his own, he had terrible anti-synergy with the other featured characters this event, whereas DP and mohawk are actually pretty good filler slots, and of course falcon is always crazy with blade or laken
This heroic pve suffers the same problem as the others. I wish it’d stop automatically entering players into subs do that we have to play a sub for 48 hours. There was no announcement or explanation for this change. I think this probably why the refresh timers became such a big issue.
I actually enjoyed this pve. Subs help the insane scaling. Event might be too long, but most other events are 7 days long. I disagree with the consensus that limited characters are bad for pve. Limited characters allow you to discover good combos of characters (ht/spidey/obw is suprisingly good!). The limited roster also allows you to save your best characters for pvp, which has helped me tremendously. Limited rosters also provide a challenge (which can be good or bad, depending on how you look at it). Finally, this pve has saved me health packs (most ive used in a clear is 2). Devs, please remodel other heroics to be like this one!
Last sub has Falcon boosted, who is the other king of PvE besides Steve. The middle sub did have a subpar character selection though, even though Deadpool is always fun.
I am in total agreement with the subject. This was the best heroic I remember participating in. Kudos to the devs on this one.
Now I would just want it a little shorter (3x24h). Everything else is lovely, IMHO.
Yes. Heroics are a nice change of pace. This one is definitely one of the best, though.
Best isn’t that great considering how low the bar is set.
Agreed, I do think this is one of the best heroics to date. I hate heriocs, and I’ve hated this one, but less than usual. ![]()
The extra characters with the limited roster is actually quite fun, and promotes roster diversity as was the intention of heroics. The scaling is still too high, and the subs are a bit too long, but it’s a definite improvement over previous ones. Hopefully the next one (in the far future) will be even better.
