Bizarre interaction between multiple cards [Investigating]

Opponent plays Settle The Wreckage and Angel of Sanctions and kills my Keiga. I steal Angel of Sanctions on Keiga death. Next turn I lose Angel due to exile and Settle The Wreckage is destroyed. From then on, any creature the opponent plays is immediately “exiled.” Opponent attempts to drop Djeru twice, but it immediately disappears. I have Cruel Reality in play but it attempts to drain the empty slot. I can still attack the opponent normally.

It’s such a niche interaction that I may likely never see it again but I thought I would post it here in case there are any other issues that can arise with Settle The Wreckage.

I had a comparable issue when my creatures entered the battlefield and were immediately destroyed?exiled? but didn’t find out what was wrong. Settle was a part of it

I have seen similar things happen when trying to steal Angel of Sanctions using Lay Claim. Often it leaves the first creature slot on the opponent side to hide an invisible creature.
