I just used his 3rd ability on level 3 on an enemy creature with 11 toughness - it survived, but the support was created and he flipped

Do you recall any other details about this occurrence such as the creature that you had attacked? Also did the creature’s toughness get reduced to 0 but then have it’s toughness increased again by another effect?
The support has always been created whether the target dies or not. Been this way since release.
Not for me in lvl 60, I used it yesterday on a creature that survived and the support was not created.
. I could look it up, but it worked with multiple creatures with a base life of +10, such as Ulrich
OK I’ll admit I have yet to fail in killing the target since my Bolas hit L60. But I played him for a long time at L46 and at that point his 3rd ability would often fail to kill something but still spawn the support and flip.
I can confirm that this is still happening.
Some details about this current instance:
- Nicol Bolas, the Ravager enemy used rank 3 ability on my Woodland Bellower (reinforced once).
- Woodland Bellower takes 10 damage and survives the ability with 4 toughness remaining
- Enemy PW flips anyway
- Bolas’ Spark support is created
