Bring back Quick Battle? Do you want it back?

Quick Battle is gone and we now have Training Grounds(most of the time).
The forum is scattered with threads of disappointment with this new event style replacement of QB.
So where does the community as a whole stand on this?

Bring back Quick Battle? Do you want it back?
  • Bring Back Quick Battle.
  • Training Grounds is great. Let QB Rest In Peace

Do both. Seems people like them both.

My vote is Training Ground, but 300 runes per win again. Accomplishes their stated goal switching to TG, but doesn’t hamper people who used QB to grind runes.

For me it’s like someone offering some food “just like real meat”.
It’s not meat. It tastes good, but it’s not meat. I’ll eat it, I might like it, but from time to time I want my meat.

It seems to me they could both use tweaking. Training grounds would be improved if there were more prizes and bigger payouts. Quick Battle would have been improved if you weren’t punished for being in the first bracket and if you didn’t have to slog for 3 solid days to get some crystals and a (probably duplicate) rare.

If Training Grounds gave 300 runes per win and spat out your (probably duplicate) rare after, say, 20 wins, it would be better than Quick Battle, IMO. Or they could make it so that 100 wins or so gets you a (probably duplicate) Mythic, so the try-hards would have something to shoot for.

If you are going to remove Quick Battle you need to have sufficient content to keep us engaged. No one wants to murder Chandra or Gideon for 10 hours in story mode to grind runes to level their PWs. 9 fights a day in FiRF or EMO is not enough.

Tg would be fine if you also got 250-300 runes per win.

I need something to do. Bring them back

I don’t get the outrage. Correct me if I’m wrong, but if you want to grind runes you can still play training grounds infinitely after you complete the progression. And you still get almost the same number of runes. I know gamers (myself included) tend to lose motivation fast after 100% progression, but if all you need is runes, I don’t see the issue. I especially like the guaranteed crystals in the format, since it saves me a few days of grinding for the same reward

Almost the same = 1/3?

I should note I haven’t actually played training grounds after completing the progression yet (mainly due to lack of time and the fact that the app crashes 2/3 fights). I thought they had said the reward would be 250 runes, as opposed to the 300 of QB. Is it really only 100?

Yep it’s only 100 after the first four battles.

And it’s not really outrage so much as disappointment. I don’t think anyone actually hates Training Grounds, I like it myself. It simply is just not a suitable replacement for QB.

@Mburn7

Your vote isn’t an informed one. You can’t really say that Training Grounds is great if you haven’t been able to play past progression. Anything past progression is not worth the time and effort.

I don’t see how this my opinion less valid. And I never said it was great (very little is great anymore with this game). I just said I don’t understand the outrage. QB wasn’t great either, the new system is just less rewarding for the top tier player and less useful for the low-tier player. Myself in the middle likes it very much since I get better rewards than QB for much less time and I don’t really need the runes anymore anyway. If the app would work for more than 2 minutes without crashing I would definitely play it more after progression, but since its unplayable anyway I just make do

BringBackQuickBattle.

Can we get Pikotaro to write us a BBQB song?

Your opinion is absolutely valid.
You like Training Grounds. So do I. IMO it’s not great and while it’s true you never in your own words said it was your vote said as much for you.

No QB wasn’t great. You are right very little about this game is great anymore. But I liked QB. I liked the grind for the jewels and to see where I was in the rankings. I liked the rare occasion when I had a slight chance at a top spot after all that grinding. I liked having my personal win/loss stats and I liked that it was there when there was nothing else to do.

Once more I’ll say it is not outrage, just disappointment.
You don’t need the runes anymore. That’s great for you but there are players out there that do and they have lost an entertaining and sustainable way to attain those.

Your opinion is valid. I never said it wasn’t. You are entitled to it and I respect it.
Your vote, at the time you cast it however, was uninformed.

Another thing people miss about Quick Battle is the cumulative win/loss/ winning streak stats.

And that if you actually PLAY QB for a long time, D3 recognizes that we’re a dedicated player and acknowledges you by giving you BIGGER prizes. Even if there was one cheater for every QB held, or even 5, I would still be making top 150, 50 or top 10 regularly. So cheaters never bothered me. We were all new players at some point. So new players will simply need to come up to speed and catch up. That’s what I did.

I want QB back. I don’t care about the placement rewards so much but it was the best place in the game to grind runes. I liked being able to see my overall win/loss ratio.
I like Training Grounds and I want it to stay around but it is not a suitable replacement for Quick Battle.
