Can we talk about Downloading Assets?

Is there a reason that the Assets don’t automatically download? If not, why can’t the program collect up all the Assets to download at once, as opposed to having to spend 5-10 minutes while it collects up small chunks at a time? Rant complete. Thank you for your time.

It’s the download all button, buddy.

Where is said Download All button? All mine gives me is a regular download button and then checks for another packet to download, then I click Download, rinse and repeat sometimes up to 7 or 8 times before all assets are downloaded.

hehehe

Goto your settings menu (gears icon)

just below the “Save Backup” section

you’ll see a button called

Download all assets. (with a size estimate)

a rew other toggles here for turning off animations etc.

But when I download all assets, it searches again and usually finds more to download. I was just asking that they make it searches for all available assets that need downloading at once. It takes me sometimes 5-10 minutes of waiting for it to find assets again and again and again and download multiple times in the same session. I must not be explaining it well.

I had the same exact experience. multiple download packets. Pauses of time in between waiting. I have to check every time I open the app to see if I have new assets to download.

Just now I had to download 7 separate packets: 29mb, 27.4, 26, 25.9, 25.9, 26.7, and finally 12.3mb. Hit the download all assets button each time and then in between each packet it said calculating download size for a few seconds.

That is the situation I was talking about. Would save time if it auto-downloaded it in the background.

This has been discovered to basically be the game trying to download the same thing you downloaded already when you played and running into an error because you don’t need it. So it grabs the data, tries to install it, can’t do anything with it and loops again to thinking you need it. It does that a bunch of times for whatever reason until it finally gets the hint.

In other words it’s not “why won’t it just download everything? Why?” It’s “why won’t it realize I don’t need this data anymore and stop promoting me to download it? Why?”

I’m glad they tried to make this a thing to alleviate data pull slowing things down but obviously it’s got issues.

On Steam this download all is now completely busted after the last update. It has worked in the past albeit requiring several downloads before it reached the elusive “all assets downloaded”. Now it sits at around 1.2GB as an estimate, completes the download and has a 50/50 chance of giving you a higher estimate. Sometimes it drops to about 1.1GB but that’s the best it has managed, and if a download is attempted it will go back up to 1.2 or even 1.3GB.
After doing a download, it would also seem to rollback some of the downloads I already had, making browsing the roster or opening tokens force more spontaneous downloads. So not only did it fail to download all, it actually seemed to sabotage what had been downloaded previously.

I have stopped playing the download all game for now..

I concur. On my Steam, the DL all amount just loops back to the same figure after pressing the button. :upside_down_face:

Update to new R. Press download all button once. Ignore until new R.

I am getting an error downloading content. 345 iOS

That doesn’t start doing that to me until I get to the Latest Legends. It tries 5 times to download the non-existent assets and then if I haven’t left the vault section it will give me that same popup.
