I have a new PC, and a backup of my save game from my old HDD. I installed Steam on a brand-new copy of Windows 10 that has done an online update. I downloaded MPQ and told Steam to run it. I see a window open briefly that said “first-time install step 1” and something about DirectX. Then that window closes and nothing else happens.
I have tried deleting MPQ and Steam and re-downloading both. I have checked that DirectX is up-to-date. What else can I do to try to get this game loaded?
