I’ve been hoarding my Taco Tokens (occasional cash in here and there) and am now at the 300 threshold, which means guaranteed 4* pull out of my vault.
I’m firmly in 4* transition mode: I have five 4* champed (
), and 3 more fully covered, but sitting at L170 (
). The top tier 4* are very much elusive (Iceman, Rulk, Cyclops have 6-7 covers).
I’m not much of a PVP player (have hit 1000 2-3 times), generally PVE (and even then, semi-casually, no alliance pressure, etc).
My next 4* closest to completion is
at 4/2/5, and my taco vault has KP
, which would get him up to 12 covers (and my 3*
is at 182, about to award a currently useless KP yellow unless I champ him in time). After KP is
&
, each at 10 covers.
So, do I cash in 300 taco tokens to pull my KP black and get him up one step closer, or continue to hoard until iceman/rulk/top tier comes along?
I was in a similar situation as you when I maxed my Kingpin (well, I had Jean Grey maxed instead of Sam Wilson, so I guess I was a Little ahead). I do not regret that decision. He’s tough and can do a lot of damage, and has an unusual color combination that lets him shine on many different teams. If you enjoy playing Kingpin, there’s no harm in maxing him.
That said, if the order does not change the next 4* characters for this set of Tacos will be Thing, Jean Grey, Iceman and Rulk in that order, so if you want a top 5 fourstar cover you don’t have to wait that long. Personally I Think you will have more use for a fully leveled Kingpin than a partially covered top 5 fourstar though. He’s also essential in Prodigal Sun later this week…
Thanks Quebbster. I was thinking along those lines, just hesitant since the KP cover wouldn’t put me to 13, but only 12 leaving me one short. With 4* being so few and far between for me, anytime I get an extra cover, I hate to waste it (hence the champed Falcon). My ISO stash is good (1M or so), as I have so few 4* leveled.
I do like KP. 6 black for that damage (especially with a team like IF/Switch) is killer, he has health, and versatility. He’s fun to play with. And like you said, worth it if he’s enjoyable to play. He almost reminds me of 3* Punisher back in the early days (one of my first maxed 3*) : not the best for any one ability, but cheap abilities and versatile (and in those days, immune to the nerf hammer).
I ended up going for it in the end. Took me 58 pulls to land my KP cover. After, I cashed in my 100CP and 1 LT for a chance at the last KP (in hindsight, saving it for the last cover might have made more sense). No luck on the KP purple, but did snag 2 OML covers, 4hor, Thing, and X-23, and a GR.
Oddly enough I managed 1000 in the Peggy PVP, and with the same boost lists, I might try in the Doc Ock one too to see if I can manage, even if I do then end up with an extra KP black.
