Just realized something: Champions are why gold star characters ended, isn’t it? The stars will now be used to indicated Championed characters, won’t they? WON’T THEY??
I expect the appropriate amount of internet outrage over this crucial (and entirely speculative) information.

It will return in R92, but only when you win a match using one or more Champions.
Your champions will all cascade down the screen, Deadpool Whales style.
I can’t really say I loved the victory sparkles, but I didn’t hate them.
