@brigby with the addition of rares can we get some clarity on Elite Pack rerolls? I have read and read and read the original post and the updates and it has always been lacking clarity. You can take the OhBoy stance that is solely a one time thing, this contradicts support and what has been posted. Or the other extreme unsure of the original post that it can be done infinitely. Of course you have stated there is a limit, that was not defined, thus proving both wrong. Now we have a 120 jewel pack. I didn’t see anything in the release notes and this has already been a topic of discussion within the coalition I am in. What are the rules on rerolls. I know this has been another topic, but with additions to the EP it will continue to come up, until we get clear and concise rules.
Side note if even half of what they fixed it actually fixed kudos to D3.
Since I have only ever asked for a reroll a total of 1 time. I clearly have not cheated or abused the system. I will say thanks for your unsolicited and ignorantly arrogant comment. So happy you can be the ethical beacon for an online game. Since all text states a limit on rerolls, but doesn’t define the limit we can assume it’s more than one. That makes you wrong; a hard pill to swallow I am sure. Since everything posted really leads to the conclusion it can and was intended to be done more than once; a direct comment from someone that actually knows is probably the best way to stop any unneeded debate on the semantics of the English language.
We do not even need to get into the original post that said they implemented a system to limit duplicates in elite packs which was clearly not the case due to the high number of players complaining about it. How dare I ask for something that clearly removes all none D3 affiliated perceptions!
I’m bitter with brigby because I held off my jewels in packs where I had every mythic as he kept telling me rerolls were one off, and then he reverses his decision to make it all OK after all.
I checked back with him constantly and got screwed over for following instructions.
I apologize. I am just trying to get some clarification which I have asked 2 times before in previous posts only to be ignored. I figured maybe starting the thread I could get somewhere. Your post does further my cause for a clear and concise ruling, as it stands it is incredibly murky.
i also happen to have a large amount of jewels saved.
The whole elite pack is just poorly thought out. They should just expand the pool so that there aren’t lots of people that can easily game the system. Instead of rotating cards available in the elite pack they should just make the elite pack cycle by block. All AKH mythics and masterpeices, all Origins mythics and masterpeices, ally HOU… etc. And then they should PROGRAM the thing to give you a guaranteed non-duplicate.
And you know what, if people can collect EVERY mythic in a set and want to guarantee a masterpiece… go for it! Let the crazy spending whales collect the cards! In fact if they can manage to collect every mythic AND masterpiece in a block then good for them!
It doesn’t hurt me that they have all the cards… I guarantee I can still whip their 10 card decks piloted by the moronic AI.
I remember a time when the announcement was that jewels would be used to target specific mythics. I really looked forward to being able to pick up some of those sweet beauties that I missed out on. Cards like Thopter Spy Network, Gaea’s Revenge, Starfield of Nyx, Deploy the Gatewatch… Do you guys remember all the times we had the chance to target those with our precious jewels? It’s funny how the Elite Pack failed before it was even released to the game because the entire premise was built on a lie fed to the players just to keep them hanging on until the patch came out. I can’t wait for booster crafting to allow me to target specific cards. I have to wonder if the delay to booster crafting is directly correlated to the epic failure that is Elite Packs, or if it is just a way to keep players hanging on just a little bit longer. Point is, this thread shouldn’t have to exist. This topic should have been put to rest months ago by just preventing duplicates in Elite Packs.
Sorry to hear that your holier-than-thou moral high ground didn’t pay off for you. But let’s be real here. If you knew it was still an option before it wasn’t “cheating”, as you were so quick and consistent to label it, whose fault is it really for your decision to not take advantage of it?
Is it D3’s, for providing an answer to your questions that was ambiguous at best, and completely nonexistent at worst?
Is it the fault of those who took advantage of the system, ill-defined though it may have been, and doubtless driven by a mindset of taking what they can get from a company as unfriendly to them as D3 is?
Or does the blame lie with you, for assuming an arbitrary degree of consistency from a company as wildly inconsistent, close-mouthed, and, by all appearances, anti-consumer as D3?
Actually, I constantly asked brigby via pm to confirm that it was indeed cheating. He also specifically said in the forums this was wrong. I would say it’s brigby’s fault for telling me specifically to act the way I did, but that’s not what you want to hear.
So OK yes, it’s completely my fault for doing due diligence instead of acting like the geniuses who claimed plausible deniability in the face of obvious facts.
This game rewards cheating. I see that now, and am thoroughly humbled by the experience.
Cheating implies that a player is unilaterally breaking some aspect of the game to their own advantage. The fact that Customer Service, a specific department within the company, willingly forked out rerolls completely undermines that premise.
To be clear, I have only actually put in for a re-roll once. I have just been that fortunate with my Elite Pack purchases that I haven’t needed to do so. So I’ll thank you kindly to take back your baseless accusation.
Furthermore, nobody forced either of your hands. You both made a conscious decision to abstain from the completely legitimate option to request a re-roll, and now you’re throwing all kinds of salt around because you’ve found out you did so for nought. you literally have nobody but yourselves to blame here. As I said in my original post, you chose to take D3 (via Brigby) at their word, despite a veritable Everest-sized body of evidence (in the form of misinformation, double-speak, and misrepresentation of facts) that you should do anything but that. And on top of all this, Brigby has even said himself that he doesn’t know everything! He can only tell us what they tell him!
But hey, at least we can agree on one thing: the people who submitted tickets are
So you’re here to gloat, on behalf of the others? That’s even worse. That just makes you a forum warrior.
We made a conscious decision to follow the rules as laid out. Where I come from, following the rules is something to be commended, and respected. And yet you seem to turn that against us for some reason.
Nobody buys that. And for the record, I’m not salty at all, I still choose to not abuse the system now that we all know you can just get away with it. My issue is that you are here blasting the honest players. That’s a terrible attitude and well, we’ll just have to agree to disagree. We have different moral standards and thus will not get along.
We’ve discussed this before but I’ll say it again; you guys made up the rules. There were never any official rules posted that said this is the way it is, end of story. If it was a rule then Brigby would have been more clear on the matter and not left it up to interpretation like he did. If it was cheating or exploiting then the accounts in question would have been banned like those caught using an actual hacked version of the game.
The implication here being that anyone who doesn’t agree with you and OhBoy is dishonest right? You certainly do have some interesting moral standards.
I like to think of it as a forum knight, there to blindly defend your imagined reality, sort of like Don Quixote.
My god, here we go again, same topic, same people flaming and accusing. Haven’t you guys got bored of the subject already? It’s clear from the previous thread you won’t get a straight and final answer on the topic.
mournfen politely asked the situation, he even apologized afterwards (though he totally shouldn’t have imho) but you guys can’t seem to let the hatred and aggressiveness go. Bullies who try to boast their high moral standards and accuse anyone opposing their perspective of cheating, abusing and exploiting. You’re no better on a moral scale, so just let it go!
Oh and if we’re on the subject of winning and gambling, you all realize that we are talking about spending real money on virtual cards that will never reimburse themselves, right? It’s not like you can sell cards to other players or get your money back out of it.
Sorry everyone never intended it to get like this…again. I can say I saw this coming, but truthfully I just wanted some clarity. Yet I get to chalk this up to yet another question ignored. Which is really messed up. It would be far less infuriating if I didn’t see other people get responded to on other posts. Even more so if someone would have provided the entire player base with some rules on this crap in the beginning. Could have saved numerous threads and countless unnecessary arguments. All by answering a simple question. What are the rules on rerolling!? Since that isn’t ever getting answered what happened to the implementation of a system to prevent dupes, this was initially promised, never officially retracted.
