Thank you for this format. I have enjoyed (and been frustrated) at the new combinations of squads that I am running and facing against. It is a welcome change to the normal meta squads, and as a 4* player, not having any 5*s in sight is very nice.
To everyone else, have you found any hidden combinations that work well together? or ones that you thought would but didn’t?
I still see a lot of people running Polaris, although her dance partners now are Daken or 2* Bullseye. So I countered with a Morbius and 3* Hawkeye that worked amazingly well together. I added 2* Thor for better color coverage and some potential damage.
I thought that Polaris/Cage/Bullseye might be a pseudo-BRB/Polaris, but that didn’t work out as I had thought because Cage didn’t put down his shield until the start of my second turn, and by then Bullseye already had done so, so Cage was kinda worthless in practice with those 2.
I’ve run GSBW and Bullseye (with Juggs tanking) for the winfinite combo, although I still have yet to find a good 4* that will help with the board shaking/ ap generation (Hysto maybe?)
Overall, I’m happy with this format and would love to see it again at some point. And I’ll continue to shake the dust off of characters and see if I can get some new combinations to work or not.
So IM40’s yellow feeds X23’s green, which should have enough red ap when fired. Plus she heals passively, IM uses the red and blue AP, maybe add 2* Black Widow for more healing (if necessary), and ap stealing? Hmm, I like it.
There are some fun teams I like and have been messing around with:
Chavez/The Hood/Hawkeye - hood steals AP to keep the balance in your favor, chavez makes crits that may or may not facilitate Hawkeye’s match-5 nonsense
P4nther/Cag3 [falcon works here too]/Bullseye - populate the board with protects, match them for hilarous damage
Sabretooth/Patch[or electra, or maybe hawkeye]/whoever, let’s say Hawkeye for cascade stuff - create enemy strikes and then match them away
Nico/Daken/Wolverine (you can reverse the 2 and 3* here if you want, or substitute Blade) - make strikes, buff strikes
G4mora/Kamala Khan/Thor - do everything you can to turn all the purple tiles into something else, Deadliest Woman your way to victory
Rogue/Hulk/Hawkeye - Rogue will probably blast everyone in the face and keep damage to a minium while Hulk turns the board green to facilitate, which has a good chance of making cascades for you
Thanks. I just ran Chavez/Hood/Black Widow (for even more ap stealing shenanigans.) Worked like a charm. Makes me want to run Peggy/Hood/BW to see how that would go.
Dark Beast/Falcon/Bullseye is really fun too. Bullseye passively creates purple protect tiles on matches, and when you match those tiles, Beast generates extra purple ap for Falcon to perform his AOEs.
As mentioned in another thread , basing a team with Chavez boosted with 2 AP in all colors and literally any other combination as cannon fodder is a quick and easy victory. Karnak, Polaris and Juggs are the most common 4*s I lose to in retaliation.
I’ve seen a lot of other 4*s used, though. C4rol, Karnak, Chavez, Juggs, to name a few. Many have been listed above. I’ve used at least a dozen different ones myself. There’s lots of synergies that have yet to be tapped into, I think. It’s fun trying to find some of them.
