Cut for Punisher

So I have The Punisher. I’ve yet to recruit him because I don’t have space currently. My next roster slot is 75 HP away. With 24 slots filled i need to cut a character lose in order to have my dear Punisher. If anyone can give me some people to cut, I’d really appreciate it. All of you are my

I feel Punisher is pretty weak in the current landscape in my opinion and have been for quite some time. Some people like his Red for high HP kills but his other abilities leave much to be desired. Cyclops is definitely a good character to keep around though. Of the characters your currently have, the only ones I’d consider cutting would be Star Lord and Rags. I’d sell some of those single cover 3 stars but it’s really difficult to suggest considering you never know how the token pulls will go or what will be rewarded 2-3 PvP’s/PvE’s from now.

Pun’s 5 red has been great for the Ultron bomb nodes but yea I kind of agree that his best days seem to be behind him. Star Lord and Rags seem to be the consensus in the thread so far. Of the two I’d be tempted to keep Rags (and keep any of the single cover 3*), since having them on the roster gets you access to their DDQ nodes/iso.

Even if you can buy another slot I would give it to Cyclops.

rags is the second best option but I wouldn’t recommend selling any 3* at all.
there is a lot of hp to farm in the game right now.

I’d dump IM35 and MBW right away. Then, Star Lord will be sitting on one cover for a loooong time. Modern Hawkeye was a good duo for old Magneto MN, a fair substitute for Classic Storm (but not equal); I never had one and never felt I needed him. Because I was short on slots I had to choose either Thor MN or Ax Wolverine to dump; I choose to keep Wolverine and it was the best choice I had. Thor is good to pair with OBW yeah, but Ares is so much better that Thor MN was never missed. Ares + OBW is the best thing you can find on the 2* realm for late PvP (400~500 score), and I used Ax Wolverine with Daken for early climb on PvP.

Dropping IM35 right now would be nuts; you need him for Deadpool’s Daily Quest. MBW herself is not going to cut in the first node.

The 3 I’ve never really cared for:*

1. Ragnarok. He recently got a rework and came out worse than ever. Odds of another rework are pretty low for some time.
2. Gamora. If you get a few covers, she might be able to do decently. Otherwise, she’s relatively underpowered, and barely worth keeping.

I would keep for now, get rid of later:

1. Quicksilver, needed for Ultron essentials.

Cyclops is worth keeping.

If your Modern Hawkeye wasn’t so covered and levelled, I’d suggest selling him, but he’s decent to your roster as is.

MBW, though I guess it’s tough given the current event requiring 1*s. Depends how much you want to play that right now.

I think Rags was redone/buffed, but maybe I’m making that up. Regardless, not a lot of love for that guy. I don’t like using chars that hurt your team with their powers.

Gamora is terrible - again, not a lot of love for her in the forums, though she keeps popping up as a powered character, so there’s that.

Leveling Hawkeye was probably a miss, so you have to decide if you want to keep him, or cut bait, take the ISO and reinvest in someone like Daken who is much more useful in the transition.

One thing I’ve learned is that I wish I had kept every 3* cover I got. You just never know which one you’re going to get covers for over time, and when the DDQ features Squirrel Girl, and you just cut her, you’re going to be po’d.

At some point, you’re going to have to spend some money on HPs. Just bite the bullet, and spend the $20, because eventually you’re going to have to anyway. Don’t do the $5 option 5 times, because you think you’re going to magically get a ton of HPs to get your roster slots down the road. It’s slow and painful - and it’s a weight off your shoulders not to have to even consider the cuts for awhile.

Summary - keep one good 1*. IM is fine - Juggs is even better. You’re only going to use it for DDQ really. Go and read the Polarity post on transitioning, and get something like: 1) Thor or Ares 2) OBW 3) Daken 4) MNMags 5)Cstorm. Sell all the other 2* covers you get, and focus on leveling them. Keep every 3* cover you get. You’ll want them for: DDQ, powered up events, and PVE nodes where they are required. Otherwise, you’re only playing about 50% of the game.

Cut Star-Lord.

At your current point in the game, you are far, far, far away from having any chance to compete for 4* covers, their token drop rate is abysmal, they do not appear in DDQ, and who knows if or when Star-Lord will ever appear in the daily login bonuses. Star-Lord is effectively a dead roster slot to you. He’ll sit there at one cover, level 70 for months, and soon you’ll find you never use him at all.

I drew a 4* Nick Fury early on and kept him for too long. He was a wasted slot I could’ve used for Daredevil or Cyclops or Sentry (I have finally got a Cyclops on my roster but he suffers from the 1-2 covers I sold).

The only 4* worth keeping if you draw him at your stage is X-Force, because you’ll get 3 covers of him for free around the 180-day mark. That’s the only 4* on my roster and I still don’t use him (he’s 2/0/0 now). Since I really have no intention of playing at the 4* level, I’m not quite sure why I still have him. Once he’s 2/1/1 I’ll see if he’s of any use in PVE I guess.

Thanks everyone for the opinions! I made the cuts of Rags and Star Lord. Of course as soon as I cut Rags, I get a draw from a standard token for him. Per usual it feels. But to those wondering why I have Modern Hawkeye. I really like using him with MNThor and GSBW. Generating more green tiles with Thor and using GSBW purple to place 2 green tiles, until I get more purple covers, to make Hawkeyes Speedshot go off. Nice and easy way to deal big damage. If I get a PX he will replace Hawkeye but until than, Hawkeye does my team well.
