D3 Holiday Plans

Firstly, I’m a long-time player (d986) and am actually pretty happy with how the game seems to be renovating itself.

The pros: Reworking some bad characters, increasing rewards, clearance levels, new boss event, and now these magical Iron Man ads (big fan and even went VIP for the first time to support it)!

The cons: Well, that boss event was pretty rough… But we’ll hopefully see it again with less steroids.

The meh: PVP changes. I’m actually shielding less but now not getting top prize anymore. So more HP, less CP, it’s a toss-up.

However, a tried and true MPQ experience involves multiple new character releases over the holidays. I believe we had major releases over Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years last year.

I’d like to make a plea to the devs that if they release new characters between now to the end of the year that they may consider running the same event with the same rewards back to back. That way everybody gets a chance (and some get two!) I’m not a religious person, but I do respect the traditions of all religions and there are many different festivities for several different cultures over the next 6 weeks. And while my family gatherings during this time are not religious in nature, it is one of the few times I see certain relatives during the year.

I’m also okay with having no new characters during this time frame if that helps even the playing field. I’m not looking for a preference for anyone in this situation. I love this game, but when it comes to real life, family comes first.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

They really should run the antman, Chulk, htd, gauntlet over the weekend with a 3 event holiday season pvp. Those pve events aren’t grind focused and people can play at a pace that makes sense for their holiday plans. A simple 3 event season lets people checkout for family plans and not cripple their standings or cause alliance issues.

While many alliances still compete for holiday events, it seems like most top alliances view those seasons much more casually vs 28 day seasons

If it’s like previous holiday seasons it’s gonna be a new character released right on the holiday weekend, people will be upset about it, then they’ll forget.

Unless they try to squeeze some extra ones in, the current release schedule would work out to…

PVE starting November 17th - new 4* character.
December 1st - new 5* character.
PVE starting December 15th - new 4* character.

Then the next 5* either the 29th or maybe they squeeze in another new 3/4* instead.

I don’t think last year was a deliberate effort to have release PVEs on every fall/winter holiday, that’s just the way the every other week fell.

Apologies if this sounds crude but if you look at the calendar for global important events then trying to respect global religions becomes extremely intrusive.

While it’s fair to say that North America has forms of Christianity as its dominant faith it’s also important to know that it’s a melting pot of cultures and beliefs. Also, MPQ is very much a global game.

Below is a spoiler listing of just some of the worlds MAJOR religions and their holidays.

Family should come first.
YOU have the power to not play an event at all or simply not play it optimally. MPQ has done a great job at relaxing the requirements to get a single new character cover on it’s release event. Even if you miss that entirely you can still reach max prog in the next pve and then grab the new character from the 800 point PvP progression.

100% definitely this.

The more of them there are the less “epic” the five stars seem

I think of my roster as my family. I’ve raised it from “birth” and I find myself spending all my hard earned money on it. I plan on spending lots of quality time over the holidays with my MPQ family

I don’t really mind what events they have planned. As long as there are no changes to game play or a brand new event style introduced just before the office closes for the long break.

If you think it’s bad sometimes getting a response over the weekend when scaling’s broken or the progression rewards are set way too high, just wait until the special holiday event starts on the afternoon of Friday December 23rd…

My guess is they’ll take some time off and go get drunk with their family and friends.
