Desecrated Tomb not spawning on all graveyard returns [Fixed in 2.9]

This isn’t a big issue but came up when I challenged a player to create the biggest stack of Bats possible.

Desecrated Tomb has the text:
’ Whenever a creature card leaves your graveyard, spawn 2 Bat tokens’.

But it only works with some type of returns.
If you cast a spell that returns a creature from your graveyard it works. Also with Liliana1 ultimate.

But Oathsworn Vampire, that specifically says that it returns from the graveyard when gaining 4 or more life, does not trigger it.
Or Warcry Phoenix that also has written that it returns from the Graveyard.

Neither does any reanimating creatures (Squee, Despoiler of Souls, Erebos Titan) but I guess that they don’t enter the graveyard until they don’t meet the return conditions (if there are any).

I have only tested a few combos in standard since that was part of the challenge.

I wonder if Sentinel Totem’s exile all cards from all graveyards would trigger it? Seems like it should to me. In Legacy, that along with Struggle//Survive could make some enormous stacks if it works.

Hi all, the team is aware of the issue where Descrated Tomb does not create Tokens if a card returns from the Graveyard with its own effect.

Exiling your graveyard does trigger it.
I tested with Bone Dragon, who exiles 8 cards from your graveyard when destroyed to return.
