I just cast a Displacement Wave while my opponent had a Thing in the Ice, and 6 cards in his hand; it flipped instead of being destroyed.
There was no problem with the game freezing tho.

Never had this happen (the opportunity for this hasn’t come up yet), however it sounds like Displacement Wave does damage to targets that cannot be returned to players’ hands instead of a straight up destroy effect - so that Thing in the Ice behaves like the pre-nerf Undergrowth Champion…
I think it is working correctly. since your displacement cannot return thing to its owner’s hand because it is full, it will be destroyed. the new text on Thing states it will flip if it’s hp is 6 or less or if it is destroyed.
