This seems like the worst event…the powered up characters are so small of a pool…

its a thor/loki fest. pick a 3rd - seen a ton (hood/daken/storm/ares/rags), but most are thor/loki including me.

The hardest thing about this PvP is contemplating the expenditure of time & resources as opposed to risk vs. reward.

My 2hor & Ares are boosted, so taking on one of seemingly endless T & A + whoever teams (sorry, I had to) isn’t a big deal, but slogging through 20,000+ health points over and over again? Ugh.

And then there are the obligatory health packs afterward…

How badly do I want that Doom card? Pretty badly, but that badly? Tough call.

Good news is the points will likely be low, so the threshold for success will be lower as well.

try 290 thor/200 loki/anyone against any team with tank/loki. talk about a slow game - mischiefs everywhere. illusions. health slowly being eaten away. made it up to 300 pts - would like to hit the 400 and 500 progressions just for the hp and iso but man its a slow painful process.

We were saying in chat that they should have run Children of the Atom instead. There are finally a lot of mutants in the game. What there aren’t a lot of? Gods. They should retire this one until Hercules and a couple of other God Squad types have been added. Ares is the only Dark Avenger whose heroic counterpart isn’t in the game. If they don’t want to add those characters, then retire it forever.

That said. . . I actually found it pretty easy to cruise to 650 for the token. A Loki v Loki fight isn’t hard, because that’s a situation where being smarter than the AI is a huge advantage. By all means, take the blue match four you stupid chump! I won’t shield, and I’m curious how far down my points will get dragged before the end.

The first bracket is at 442/500 now.

I got a notice that congratulated me for a top 500 finish in this event, and it took me a while to realize that there are only 500 people in a PvP bracket.

This was weird. I was in slice one and did not get attacked once in my slow sluggish journey from 0 to my ultimate resting place of 918. No hits in the usual 4-600 area, none during my climb, and none after I shielded.

Took a top 5 spot away from someone who actually needed the purpleflag.png

  • Maybe that’s my way of preparing for Nefarious Foes…since the rewards there certainly don’t excite me.

I swear, the AI has gotten a lot more devious than it used to be.

Enemy Ares team gathered 10 yellow and 10 red. He waited three turns until my CStorm was out front until unleashing Sunder, and then immediately followed it up with a Ramage to down her. icon_e_surprised.gif

Confirmation bias incoming… the AI waited until i made the final blue match to stun his tinykitty to do it to me…

I cannot count how many times that has happened to me. I have actually, on multiple occasions, attempted to shield a weaker hero by making specific matches, and the moment the protected character revolves into the front…

BAM. Sunder, then Rampage, and my hero is down. Awesome.

Agreed. That Ares is certainly a crafty one. Makes sense being a god and all.

Could swear he has serious dislike of Obw.

Seriously he does seem to to hold back on his onslaught etc sometimes. Seems to wait to you have to match with a squishier character and then bam totally decommissions them. Obw being a key example but also noticed it with the Hood and Loki also.

OBW, Hood, Loki.. the other team never has any AP, but you have a total of 9 hp… long long match, but would be fun to try.

OBW/Hood/Loki doesn’t really have any damage except for the occasional Intimidate and the even more occasional Twin Pistols. Sounds like an overscaled node we’ll see at some point in Gauntlet (unless we have already and I don’t remember it). Wouldn’t be too miserable to beat either if you bring Fist and Falcon + whomever (maybe Gamora for a cheap active damage skill?), target down OBW, then you’re probably fine.
