As i was intending to open a RIX pack, i just noticed that the droprates were reduced to a standard rate (about 6-7% mythic).
I couldnt resist to check the XLN droprates … And noticed that the droprates remained ridiculous.
So the set that needed an adjustment didnt get it, and the one that was good for players was cut down.
First thought is … that XLN droprate was finally made on purpose.
Secong thought is … In the middle of the starvation … Are you trying to get rid of any generous aspect of the game or it is just (another) clumsy move ?
RIX droprates had to be lowered sooner or later, that’s for sure … but doing it without adjusting the XLN set is just so ironical …
I am very curious where these reduced drop rates are reflected. I noticed a significant decrease in drop rate for rivals packs post release that I am of course not able to prove, yet on android the stats don’t report any changes since the last release.
Prior to 2.6, the app was reporting the RIX single-pack chance of 1+ mythics as 9.37% (1.95% per card), and now it’s 6.97% (1.43% per card). That’s still well above the total average observed pre-2.4 mythic drop rates, but the reported XLN mythic drop rate balances that out by remaining below pre-2.4 rates by about the same amount.
RIX was also made booster craftable and the amount of runes/orbs for dupes was reduced to normal, so I assume RIX is no longer considered the “new set” with special new set incentives, thus the decrease in drop rate. Bafflingly, a RIX premium pack still costs 320 crystals though…
Weirdly, Brigby was saying in another thread the reason for the drop rate discrepancy had been the difference in mythic to non-mythic ratios of the sets, so I guess this change puts that argument into perspective. I assume when Dominaria releases (relatively soon? (anyone heard ANYTHING about when that might be?)) it’ll have higher drop rates for a while.
Not a dumb question. In vault, click the banner so that it drops down the three different purchase options for packs. Each of those packs should have a percent symbol in the upper left. Click on that, and it will show you the drop percentages for that pack.
