Happy to see the correct use of “its” on these cards! I hope we’ll see a corresponding fix for older cards.
Interesting. Do you think they forgot to include an additional power for Brisela, Voice of Nightmares? As it stands right now, melding from Gisela by adding Bruna gives +1/+2 and vigilance for 18 mana. You’d pretty much be strictly better off if the cards didn’t meld and I can’t imagine anyone playing Bruna in a deck with Gisela. In paper, Brisela prevents your opponent from casting cheap spells, which could make the meld worth it.
First Strike.
It’s a game-breaking keyword on a blocker that’s big enough. It allows Brisela to do damage to enemies BEFORE they can even react (and in most cases, kill them without them doing damage back!).
If you were around when Knight of the White Orchid was a 6/6 for 16 mana… yeah. First Strike is a very powerful keyword - especially for blockers in this game where one creature can block any number of creatures!
Right. He’s saying that Gisela has all the pertinent abilities.
If you put Bruna in a deck, in order to meld, you’re paying 18 mana for a creature (Brisela) who is only 1/2 and Vigilance better than Gisela. It isn’t worth it.
And more annoyingly, paper Bruna (but not MTGPQ Bruna) can get back Angels, not just humans, which lets you meld them automatically if your Gisela has already died.
Ha. I literally just said this in the slack channel. I don’t see how bringing back angels would be OP in PQ. Also, why can’t PQ Brisela have the paper ability of restricting opponent to cast cards of X cost or more? There’s a lot of investment going on with this meld to leave these abilities out.
so who’s going to buy them individually at $30.00? I don’t think I would.

Gisela is the only one worth anything as the cards are right now. Bruna and Brisela are underwhelming.
They have left out so many cards from paper. Many of those rares…I dont see why they could not have included them. They could have left out some of the lousier rares that i see in the gallery and included cards like identity thief, eldritch evolution and coax from blind eternities… the last one i think was kind of an important for the theme of this set… nahiri summoning emrakul to innistrad
Also disappointed in Mirrorwing Dragon… the paper ability was so much more interesting.. replicate all effects of any spell cast on it on all creatures of the player who cast the spell… buff it and buff all of your other creatures… destroy it and all of your creatures are destroyed too. As it stands the current mana cost is too much for its stats and ability. Or increase the amount of damage done by it
