Post your decks and tips for this Planeswalker below!
Well incredible as it might sound I think you should take Hixus out of your deck …
With Gem Conversion generated by the Grafstone, Hixus will not survive long. Also it has a bad synergy with Cast Out because if you have locked a creature with the latter it will be enabled if you play Hixus and it breaks.
I think Gideon’s Defeat with its two shieds is a better choice for your deck (or the less effective but uncommon Sandblast)
I would also suggest two other replacements : Dunes of the Dead by a creature with more impact than a 2/2 with no additional ability, and Prophetic Prism by Forsake the Wordly which will provide support disruption (it seems everyone plays Omniscience now…) and can be cycled away for 1 if you need another card
I have realized that Elspeth is practically made for Pyromancer’s Goggles.
Activate her ultimate when you have ONLY Ascension of the Second Sun as the only spell in your deck to see why.
Her only drawback in this case is that her Support limit is rather low (5), which means a Goggle+Ascension combo will require you to have 4 creatures in your deck, not exactly advisable against Bolas.
Also, I’m also having ideas of making a creatureless deck with her using the Goggles, Ascension, then add things like Fumigate and Skywhaler’s Shot. That probably will instantly be the most annoying deck when the AI gets infinite mana out of it.
If it means anything, with the guilds set she is almost unbeatable with the right setup. Having to tweek against god pharaoh but looking good with divine visition and March of multitudes
I think she’s overrated. I got her because of the event and there’s been some positive reviews but aside from having good colour bonuses I’ve found her performance lackluster.
Soldier Tokens and second ability are unreliable by themselves but then the third only enables these; it’s like they were trolling when designing her. Catch 22 in Planeswalker form, basically.
I haven’t leveled her fully I’ll admit, but right now I feel like I was taken for a ride by this event requiring her for one of the Nodes. I win easily with Gideon and wish I’d saved my currency.
