I’m not sure Explore:1 is as powerful as you imply it is. I’d say Path of Discovery might help us all understand if / how powerful it can be. New Perspectives is probably still more powerful.
Etali seems good, but not sure yet if it needs nerfing, or anything for that matter, it hasnt been out for 24 hours even. Before we start calling for bannings, why dont we playtest with them for a day or two first?
Grizzo does actually own these cards. He has already, in fact, used Path of Discovery and Zendikar’s Roil to go infinite. These are his observations after playtesting these cards (and after other coalition members have playtested them).
Lets just discuss the merits of leaving the cards as is.
Well, lets not call for a nerf to Path of Discovery when coupling it with a known bugged card that is spitting out double or quadruple the amount of tokens it is supposed to when it triggers.
Path of Discovery is OP but not more OP than a long history of other OP cards. In this new standard it is an entry level engine for wins. Let’s keep it until the new Rishkar’s Expertise is made. Calling for bans is not productive when they can’t even fix bugs…
Calling for a ban of a card, because of its interaction with a card that is BUGGED seems a little silly.
Ofc, an easy fix, if it is still too good after the bug fix (coupled with TSN also seems really good, or hangar back walker), is to just have it say: “nontoken creature”
Compared to an 8/8 dragon (glorybringer) @ 19 mana with haste and exert 2 for 8 damage to non-dragon units the opponent controls … just curious as to how this is OP? This is an honest question and am not trying to be snarky. Would just like some more insight from you regarding this.
And this is the problem with Origins always staying in standard.
I don’t mind having a base set to always choose from, but the cards from Ixalan weren’t designed to ever see the cards in Origins in standard, and as such broken interactions will exist.
Actually that’s’a weird conclusion to make: instead of criticising the devs for not taking origings into account ( the one constand in standard) you critique origins being a constant.
I’d’say that it’s’a flaw in the design process to not take origins into account.
