End of season? Devs?

So in-game the season ends in 4 days but according to the upcoming events, Black Panther event is supposed to be end of season. I want to believe that the season will end when the game says it will end but a little clarification couldn’t hurt.

IceIX said he’ll look into it, but I am not aware of any response yet.
Then again, he might not have been in the office yesterday due to Labor Day.
