I can’t tell you how many times this has happened to me:
I win a battle.
Rewards screen says my event points are at 605.
I go back to the battle select screen, immediately notified of attack that puts me back to under 600.
No 600-level reward. At least not yet.
Today it cost me the reward because I had to stop and go to work. I’ve had days where I’d cross the threshold repeatedly, only to be attacked during that battle, so I could never cross it.
I feel like if the “Event Points gained” screen ever shows a reward-worthy level, we should get the reward regardless of what happens on the next screen.
I’d love if they tracked progression rewards entirely separate from tournament standings, where your progression awards are based on total points (probably total points from matches you participate in, not receiving lost points from AI-controlled matches) and tournament ranking are determined as they are now.
They’d have to push the good rewards much further out, but it’s an interesting idea. It would give you two ways to win, coppering for top of the mountain or just grinding to get the progression prizes. It might over-encourage grinding, though, especially against low-point teams you’d ordinarily ignore because their retaliations would hurt too much.
