So it’s only the first couple days of Alliance Rewards and its already like a soap opera. I like it.
We have alliances kicking out members a few hours before rewards end, other alliances taking them in.
Guys been booted for low scores and others for no reason.
How soon is it gonna be before we have the super competitive alliances trying to steal members from other groups with the promise of riches beyond their wildest dreams? When is it gonna turn into a forum war with hate filled messages flying back and forth?
Well Shield has stolen my top 2 members, Brady28 and EvilSonGoku, right after walkyourpath assured me no dedicated recruitment efforts were in place. Another dude Shamusyeah was picked up by them while waiting on my queue. I have not recruited a single member from another alliance but shield boosted itself to first place (already having the best rosters to begin with) by taking the creme de la creme from elsewhere. (Shield members, save yourselves your explanations, not interested.)
Evil Alliances? They already exist. Want to do something about it? Target the big guys, if you see a shield guy, take him out.

It’s inevitable there will be drama when most of us sold ourselves for a blue Black Panther cover.
I think the whole alliance reward thing is going to just fragment the game but I sold myself for a blue Black Panther cover too, so I can’t complain too much.
Don’t worry though, we’ll soon have drama the other way, like guys with 1000 points will be demanding favors or they leave your alliance and join the rival one right before an event ends!
Since klingsor’s not interested in an explanation, I’ll just say this for others who are interested:
I didn’t say recruitment efforts weren’t in place. What I said was that we were reaching out to top tier players that we’ve interacted with here in the forums and played against in Elite tourneys and the like. I also said that the targeting wasn’t specific to the Venoms alliance. It wasn’t. We got people from all over, the vast majority of which weren’t attached to an alliance at the time. They’re all people we’ve had fun talking to and playing against in the past.
You can’t steal a person. They decided to play with us because we play pretty hard, share good info, have fun, and don’t take it all quite so seriously.
There’s no end of great players in this game. It’s doing a disservice to the other awesome players on their team, who are still totally giving us a run for our money. Venoms still has an amazing line up, along with all the alliances on the leaderboard right now. They’re good people, great players, and I love interacting with them all here.
I really don’t want the forums to be a place where I can’t have camaraderie with all these great players, regardless of alliance. Pretty sure TheUnwiseOne was hoping this thread would be a place for some good-natured trash talk rather than a place to spit ven… ummm, anger?
So, in that spirit, I dig you all, and as a strong contender, we expect to be targeted regardless of how you feel about us. Come at as us, bros and sises! We’ll see you here with smiles no matter how it turns out.
