and yes, cyke pvp is exceptionally bloody. a bad cascade can end your game very quickly. even without bad cascades, its difficult to get out healthy.

Indeed. I’m aiming for 1000 points, but with the bloody mess I’ve been going through so far, I plan to slog with my hulkbuster and JG throughout the day rather than in bursts. No way I can climb 300 points within one or two hours. More likely 100 points, break for healthpack to regen, climb another 100, and so on.

Just run HB 5,3,5 and Cyclops 3,5,5. You can generate so much red with cyclops and HB. Pummel people with HB red and Cyclops black. JG can then do AOE damage to kill or solvent everyone up. I climbed from 500-1000 with that strategy.

if your jean is underdeveloped, use iron fist. he can rack up the blacks for full blast. hb red, clops black = 2 downed characters from full health.

I hate this event. Made the hop from 850 to over 900 so easily with a very good target (70 points) and after that? Nothing. No, I don’t want to face Jean/XFW/Cyc for 21 points… At the end of my shield I found finally something (35 points) won the match and got 41 points but someone attacked me and I lost 20 points in the process. Next shield hop try: same result. Then, I’m looking on to the Leadboards and someone in the Top 10 is unshielded but nope, he’s not available to me…

I know how this works but sometimes…

I actually kind of liked it. My oml/cyke/if team is high damage and since oml does most of the tanking I rarely needed a health pack.

IM40/Cyclops/Nick Fury is an enjoyable team to use for this event. I think Fury is just an all-around interesting character to use, and even though he’s not top tier he’s a lot of fun when his Demolition is accelerated by crazy-pants-post-buff-IM40. I cackled on more than one occasion as the enemy made a match to give them enough AP to cast Full Blast… only to activate the 10+ Fury traps lying around the place. Whoopsies! I am looking forward to a 5th blue cover for Fury - even at 2/4/5 he’s been a VIP in this event for me.

I had more trouble than usual using IM40 in this event, even when I started with 3 yellow ap. Perhaps because cyclops often chases yellow matches, making the tiles harder to protect. Then again, I don’t have a usable JG, and her ap needs match IM40+Cyclops very well. So that might have held me back too.

Didn’t start using boosts until about 800, I think - I just chased yellow along with cyc until there were no matches left, grabbling green and purple along the way. I did wipe a couple of times and come out limping more due to cascades. Also swapped in a few other characters occasionally, but they were my main team.
