Just to start off, I’m quitting the game after the worst pve ever made “so far” which is the heroic: Dark Avengers for Doc Oc. I didn’t want to wait for their anniversary coming up in 1-2 days time depending on your timezone. I’m pretty sure that whatever they are planning to put up in their anniversary wouldn’t be that special anyways. I’ll still be checking back just to see what they do, as early as now I can see myself staring at what they do for the anniversary and tell myself I did the right decision to leave this stagnant game.
So while I’m quitting I would like to leave something up for discussion on what you guys think will be D3’s gimmick or whatever for their anniversary?. My personal guess is that we’ll just get some new pvp/pve (but seriously, whats the point of the same thing in a different clothing lol)
@Mohio: Actually I decided to quit when I started the PVE. I just decided its gonna be my last PVE so might as well do my best. Plus there were stragglers in the alliance earlier so had to put in the extra weight.
And of course, just to be more sinister, since rank 2 was within my reach I just decided to hoard it (same thing people do in pvp rank 1 which I don’t do)
This pve wasn’t actually hard if you had a few of the characters leveled. In fact doing 7 total fights every 3 hours isn’t bad either. The overnight rubber banding sucks but perhaps D3 will eventually tailor the style of pve more towards gauntlet and less towards the 'who can play most often and be on the last few hours)
I think with the structure of sequential events there’s nothing wrong with giving everyone who reaches a certain progression level all the new covers of a character. There’s no reason why people should be screwed because of the time zone they live in or why people can play the last 2 hours of a 7 day event and get more of a reward than people who grind the entire 7 days (even if its like playing with fire and holding onto your lucky rabbits foot at the same time)
The grindy-ness of doing the same nodes so often is also tiring and why many people just don’t care about pve even if it offers much more variety and challenge than the current pvp (which is much more broken)
I’ll say it again, - even if the rewards sucked for people who finished it, - the gaunter was the perfect pve pace.
You have X amount of time to complete X nodes - 1 time each. If you do it, here’s your reward.
Oh and for the Anniversary? Probably just an HP/ISO sale since that brings in ‘free’ money and doesn’t require any extra work
I would love to see a Gauntlet where there were decent rewards for making it through all the way doing each node once, then as you do each node again (and again, and again) the levels increase, independently of all others, with ISO rewards that correspond to the levels of the AI. Like levels bump 5-7 for each win, drop 1 for a loss and ISO = 50% of combined levels. Might even be cool if certain nodes required two specific chars (Storm/MagMN, Spidey/BWGS, Falcon/Frank or pairings like that where they have interesting synergies), possibly even giving those chars boosted to 85/140 at 4/4/4 or the option to use your own.
just when everyone throws in the towel I completely believe they will announce something dramatic, like a new game mode. How well that will do to mpq remains to be seen since it is not promising if you based it off the history of changes we have had. So I will be as vague as possible and say that a new feature = great hype follow by ocean deep disappointment and you find yourself weeks later asking why are you still playing this…
Nope, didn’t have to look it up. I’ve watched that movie MANY times. Wheel of Fish! SUPPLIES! We don’t need no stinking badgers! You get to drink from the FIRE HOSE! The quotes are endless. Great movie!
Hopefully D3 will give everyone a copy for the anniversary. (See how I brought it all back to topic?)
