Hatchery Spider does not assimilate Insect creature tokens created by The Locust God [Fixed]

Title says most of it.

To add some extra data, I tried to get it to happen two different ways. First, I played a spider with Locust God tokens already in play, but nothing happened. Then I tried to create Locust God tokens with the spider already in play, but that did not work either.
