This is me. I play some PvP… I enjoy it (not to the extent of some others, but I do enjoy it). However, I have never bought a 1a5.
So, mine are still growing. And because certain vaults have given multiple ascended versions of some lower tier characters, I have plenty waiting for that drip feed.
That said – im finding my own balance of which nodes are worth the heroic run for me, and which are not. Right now, its working fine, because Xmen have plenty of easy options… but next time? We’ll see.

on a actual gameplay basis, all the middle aged and higher roster have 550 the 1 (multiple times) and are working on the asc 3 to 5. but the volume of 4 covers for 1 level on the 5 s reward tree is probably more valuable. Every 16 covers will net you 250hp 25cp 1 lt and 5000k iso.
In terms of gamepower, yes I do think the 550 2* are better the 550 1(star).
