Hour of Devastation: Vault of Catlacan does not convert X gems to Blue [As Designed]

While playing the HoD event, I noticed that Vault of Catlacan was not converting X gems to blue at the beginning of my turn despite having supports in play.

On my turn, Storm the Vault flipped with 5 treasures and Rupturing Spire on the field. The following turn, I expected VoC to convert the proper amount of gems but it failed to activate entirely.

My opponent had a gem converter in play as it’s sole support and did not appear to use any spell that would prevent VoC from activating.

I replicated this behavior an additional two turns before conceding but I’m out of charges to test further. It is possible I missed something though, given that I used StV last night and this morning with no issue.

So it does. I think I only paid attention to the power/defense increase of that card and overlooked the top line entirely; thanks.

When Agrus Kos is on the battlefield, gems can’t be converted, as Laeuftbeidir said.
