I’m not as into comics as some of the fan base here might be, so I’m pretty sure I’ve been saying these wrong.
Dah-kin and Door-mah-moo?
if anyone is as confused as I am on some of these pronounciations, feel free to ask about others (can’t think of any though)

Thing is, even if you are into comics, you’ll mostly see these names written down a lot more often than hearing them.
(I say Day-ken, but have no idea if that’s correct, and pronounce Dormammu as above, with slight stress on the second syllable.)

You can hear Dormammu say his own name in UMvC3, it’s as pronounced above.
I’m too busy getting my ass kicked because I try to play it like street fighter instead of using air combos
YEAH I’VE BEEN DOING IT RIGHT THE WHOLE TIME
Texting my mom to tell her I’m good at something
Yeah, Daken is supposed to be a Japanese word, so it should be pronounced Dah-Ken

Pronounced like the 70s-80s metal band Dokken
It ain’t rockin’ if it ain’t Dokken (or Daken)

When he was intro’d in the comics, this is what I’ve always assumed his name referred to.
Glenn Danzig perma-scowl, leather pants, shirtless, full arm/pec tribal tat, mohawk…Marvel seemed to be going for an 80s metal/punk thing (or 90s pop thing co-opting an 80s metal thing).

I’d been wondering about this. No longer do I need to feel silly for saying Daken as darken .

While we’re at it, what did Raiden shout in Mortal Kombat? It always sounded like High-umm-bubba-lay to me.
It’s literally gibberish. Midway confirmed this on one of those “I Love the '90s” shows on VH1.
