When the app loads, there should be an initial screen to choose from!!
Many circumstances can require you to reload or load to a new device., or clear data from the app as part of forcing it closed as the FAQs indicate in several areas.
Then you have to spend about 2 hours going through all the Walkthrough/ intro levels AGAIN( and for nothing, because loading saved data overwrites!)

1st thing app should is a simple screen to choose [existing player/login] or [Start New game] BEFORE hours of many walkthrough levels

This has been mentioned many times before… “The very first option should be two buttons, one says “Begin a new mpq account” the other says “Restore mpq data from a backup””
And the OP is correct, when customer support recommends a reinstall and then you are stuck going back through the tutorial, they really do need to address the issue.
