I promised someone to reveal my secret weapon and it was Blade.
Thor/Blade/ Daken is rainbow, loads of strike tiles for dakens blue, blades black drains what 3 AP a turn from goons, strike tiles beat AP steal (mystique) with the added bonus that all the red is covered in strike tiles so Doom’s black has nowhere to go, or hard restricted. 2 green generators for Call the Storm, 3 if their strongest color is green. Also no matter what their strongest color Blades black is getting you +3AP per turn.
Or with Patch and Daken for sustained push, loads of strikes to feed his purple and the two regen characters tank for him.
Or with Groot and Daken for real sustain damage,
or with Hood/ Tank for crazy AP drain fun times.
Anyway Blade was the star of my show, many times doing whole clears even late on the last day without needing a single health pack.
P.s. Maybe we could all decide to help each other like we hope these forums are for rather than keeping our own little secrets. I love you all.
Also pertaining to my other post, that’s why I don’t level up Xforce, so I have roster diversity in PVE.
Please see my 10,000 posts on unfair end times as an Australian. This event ended 4PM Monday for me, there isn’t a more inconvenient time. I am trying to offer help to the community and you feel the need to flame me, this is why I don’t really post anymore.
I for one thank you for sharing this. I didn’t use Blade in this PVE, but I did for the previous PVE to earn the Groot covers. I posted at that time that even at level 89, covered 2/2/3, Blade was an absolute monster in PVE. I totally dig him.
It looks like you run your Blade 5/5/3? or 5/4/4? I personally was thinking of going 3/5/5, but now you have me wondering what build would serve him best for the way I may end up using him – likely PVE.
correct, 5/5/3 I just took him to 166 today with the end rewards. A PVE beast, I find his strikes really unpredictable, and really easy to counter in PVP. Like hey look blades passive procced, I’ll give up a turn matching red to stop that. Also I like to run Daken 5 Blue just to eat up the strikes, what like 5 blue for ~ 3K is better than Xforce?
a few notes for PVE if you avoid matching red the strikes get big quickly, also with Thor I focus Yellow over green as thunder strike makes a crazy mountain of strikes off dakens passive and maximizes the chance of green matches, also if there is loads of green laying around if you do Dakens blue you have a good chance for a free (or two) green matches that replenish the strike tiles. Also don’t forget your strike tiles generate off a green match before your opponents so if you chain them together you fill up the red with your strikes and leave none for an opposition daken.
my focus order
or team ups to avoid red matches.
but with any rainbow team you are better off looking for 5 match > 4 match > 2 chain or more of ANY color.
Yeah pretty much. I tried using him the first sub with falcon, but without that 5th (or 4th for that matter) green cover to reduce the number of required
to 10, they just don’t get out very often. And then the scaling kicked in so he was dieing to match damage alone before being able to pull out more than 1 or 2
s
yea blade falcon doesn’t work I tried it a mess of times it just doesn’t. Crossover for purple and Blades passive is too unpredictable, think of him as a black purple that occasionally gives you a surprise. Dont rely on the passive.
I find going to work on 1.5hrs sleep an interesting challenge. Oh, and partially because I used a ton of boosts and bought two lots of 5 heathpacks during the final 2 hour grind at 3am-5am. Oh, and because Hulk tanking Demons to trigger green into X-Force works a treat.
This event pretty much had no red user on the opposing team so it’s easier to get The Thirst out but the high level nodes have more than enough HP to outlast some strike tiles. Besides Captain America cleans up the goon/villian combo and he does need red.
agree Blade was peculiar to this event, no red enemy and a team that both went after purple/ black as well so denying them was more advantage. More argument for diversity I guess.
Well, I’d be more inclined to experiment if stuff didn’t start out in low 200s in virtually every event too. And that’s not even very hard, but you don’t just randomly try something new with someone that might not be max covered against level 200+ enemies.
My Blade isn’t high-level enough to be that useful, but I played against a few in PVP and I know for sure he’s quite good. At least Daken-tier, but maybe more versatile. When I win the Blade covers in the next PVP I’ll definitely bring him to 166.
In the PVE against countdown-tile goons, I used a lazycap with my pet IM40 with only 2 yellow covers. Start the game with +3 red and yellow, make two yellow matches, charge, and you can win quite comfortably without taking any damage.
I ran lazy cap, im40 x/x/2, and obw for the doom portion PVE nodes on the right side of the board. For the essentials, and the more difficult nodes on the left, often mystique/doom, I ran 2/2/5 groot, BP, daken, or for Doom only nodes, BP, Hulk, Groot. My fave moments were when Dooms demons angered Hulk into an avalanche of strike tile cascades, or, even more fun, I tanked dooms demons with Groot, dropped his blue strike tiles, then when I healed with a yellow match and destroyed all TU, the resulting strike tile cascade wiped everyone out. Groot can be a real wildcard. Those strike tiles are nasty.
