I have to say this test was horrible. I figure I’d give this test an honest effort since the last two I really didn’t. This also meant I had to pick a different ending time slice then I normally do. So, I picked the one that ended at 5pm est. As of this post there’s still 7hrs left in the slice but I was the 1st to 259,122 points. So, here’s the breakdown of how it went:
Shield base(48hrs): 3 wave nodes. I did some that Thursday night and finished up on Friday. Placed 49th
Avenger’s Tower(24hrs): 3 wave nodes. Took 6 hrs to clear(I did take a break for a couple of minutes a few times). Placed 29th
The X-Mansion(24hrs): 3 wave nodes. Took 5.5 hrs to clear(no breaks). Placed 14th
Hell’s Kitchen(24hrs): 0 waves! Took 2.5 hrs. Placed 2nd
Hand Fortress(24hrs): 4 wave nodes. Took 3.5 hrs to clear. Placed 1st
Nick Fury Rescue(24hrs): 3 wave nodes. Took 3.75 hrs to clear. Placed 1st
I usually skip the 7 day events unless it’s for a new hero. I hate the 7 day events but this I wanted to try this test. If Jean Grey and Hulk Buster weren’t boosted, I don’t know if I would have played past the first day. There were some good things about it, but there wasn’t enough to outweigh the bad things for me anyways.
Wave nodes: Extra rewards are always nice, but having to clear them 9 times was terrible. Just about every wave node that had a token or cp took at least 7 clears before getting them. They were challenging which is good, because you don’t want them to be to easy. I had to break out winfinite a few times.
If you want to finish in the top 10, this format flat out sucks, because it’s a total race to clear as fast as possible. It’s much easier to clear, wait 8hrs, wait 8hrs, grind the last 2.5hrs to get a top 10 finish then this format. If you just want to get progression rewards without a top 10 finish, then it was probably great for you.
