ISO-8 is now actually Marvel continuity

Apparently, ISO-8 is now official Marvel continuity: a rare substance, formed of crystallized bits of spacetime, that can give individuals unheard of power. Next up: in continuity explanation for how Maggia Muscles can take down Thor.

I think it has a very old (but obscure) place in the Marvel continuity.

I was reading to my son the original (1960’s) Stan Lee Spiderman run and there it was: Iso-8. As I remember it, Peter Parker’s blood was killing Aunt May (from a blood transfusion) and the only cure was a rare substance called Isotope-8.

EDIT: I’m probably wrong about it being named “Iso-8”, but I do remember thinking that this comic was where somebody got the idea for Iso-8.

That one was Isotope 30-something, I think. I remember rereading “If This Be My Destiny” this year and thinking “oh, that’s where they got the name! They just changed a number!”

Funny. My guess is that they initially pulled the name from that story (around the end of the Ditko run, right?), then when they put it into the video games, writers decided to add it into the current continuity.

MPQ is not even listed, even though MFF is!

Iso8 is a main fixture in WOH game, and I played that for years.
