3* covers given away daily (not complaining) but with yet another 4* on the way, that looks half decent, that means we all need to pony up 430k iso8.png

I am really at my wits end here. They need to do something to allow the middle tier players to be able to compete by:

  1. lowering iso8.png
    to level a 4*. Would 200k be so unreasonable? How about 250k? 430k is absurd

  2. have another method/event to earn 4* covers. Coming in 1st in PVE is for people who don’t sleep, even with 8hr refreshes and 24/36hr subs (which we are grateful for)

  3. 1st in PvP is reserved for a very select few. I can’t tell you how often those who come in 1st in PVP don’t even need the cover. They just do it for “season score”.

  4. suggest your idea. they do read this, they just hardly implement anything, if soon. but saying nothing means everything is fine, and it clearly is not

You are forgetting 1k PvP progressions.

1k PVP, 4* cover.

Even if you shield A LOT (which I still have to with weak roster), you can hit 1K using well under 2500 HP in shields/boosts.

ISO comes quite fast, it’s just most people spend it as soon as they earn it. Go 2 weeks without spending ISO and you’d be surprised how much you accumulate. DPD is what, 5K ISO a day? 35k/week? Past 220 is diminishing returns anyways.

Plus, most 4*'s lately have been pretty meh so we have that going for us icon_lol.gif

With the amount of 4* rotations by the time you can get 10-12 covers for your character it takes over 6 months. And that is granted you can get to 1k each time they come up.

I didn’t say it’s fast, but it’s not the impossibility you seem to present it as. Winning covers via 1k progressions is actually faster and more reliable than attempting to win them via 1st place finishes in PvP and PvE.

I think the 1k progression (PvP),given current levels of competition, has become a circular argument: if you want to 3* progress using the 1k progression award, you need to already have a well-developed 3* roster. Or spend a good deal of money on shields.

Both of these things are NOT a bad thing, the 4* transition comes AFTER the 3* transition. Once you have a “well-developed 3* roster” you can start going for 1k rewards to build your 4*s. That’s how it goes, and it works fine.

I do wish they would move the 4* daily rewards to be more evenly distributed over the progression rewards. The gap between XF and IW could be filled by a few covers. Day 490 is also kinda far for TGT.

I’m in the “Month of X-Force” right now in my SHIELD resupply, and just today I was looking at the list to see what other fun stuff I have coming up. After I get the yellow X-Force, I won’t get another usable cover for 115 days. And it’s the three-star version of the same character. And if I’m still playing at that point, I probably won’t need it anymore. I’m not complaining about free covers; it’s a nice feature that gets you playing daily. The ordering of the rewards just feels a little strange.

It’s the bottom end of the progression that probably needs fixing, but that’s not a 3*-4* issue.

You have it wrong, you 4* progress through 1k progressions. You progress 3* through Top 100 alliance rewards and general placement (ideally T25).

“now”? It’s been this way for awhile, and after about the 5th 4* some of the whales commented how they couldn’t keep up. The ISO (and HP) vastly need to increase - DPD is a step, but not nearly enough.

I voted 2 - the problem is you don’t need ISO when you can’t get covers. I’m pretty sure they said somewhere the 3*->4* transition would be “easier” than 2*->3*…ha ha ha ha ha!

I’ve been PVP-ing since season 3, and I average about two covers per season - one as alliance reward, .75 as a draw (definitely not drawing one per season), .25 as a purchase. Day 354, thirty-nine total 4* covers, none ever sold. Seven 4*'s so far, so ~5.5 covers per 4* (and that average seems to be going down, not up)…that’s not a very fast transition.

4s aren’t going to be relevent as long as you can never select more than 2 of them for a PvP event beyond the top 2 most powerful characters, and unless you’ve gross inflation the top 2 4 isn’t going to change very often either. For PvE it might matter more but PvE is also kind of a mess already.

Someone suggested a little while ago that they add a 4* cover into the Deadpool Daily Quests, whether it be monthly, or weekly, or something, and that there could be some sort of character restriction in place to make sure people didn’t progress through the game too quickly. It would also help if they treated a 4* rollout like any other character, rewarding 1 cover to top 150 instead of cutting it off at top 50.

That’s probably never going to happen, for the simple reason that DDQ is too easy. Adding 4* covers to it devalues the 4*s that are otherwise earned by exceptional performance in PvE or PvP.

On the other hand, there’s no reason there couldn’t be a SECOND side event added that would award 4* covers, but which would be much more difficult (like “back end of the Gauntlet” level difficult), and possibly require specific 3s to enter (sort of in the way that the DDQ 3 cover node requires you to complete a node with the featured character as a requirement). That would keep 4*s as things you either needed a lot of luck (via token) or roster power (via events) to obtain, but open them up to more people than just 40 or so per PvP event. (I don’t know how many shards populate during a given PvP…)

Yeah, I had this idea and posted it a few weeks ago. The idea was to have a hard gauntlet style mode where 4 stars could be earned. It would have fixed scaling (like DPD) and should be scaled appropriately so that only people that have an established 3 star roster (so they should be 3-4 star transitioning) can earn the 4 star cover.

I’d argue 4* progression is fine.

  • Progression rewards were reduced to 1000 points making them easier to obtain for everyone. It will likely cost a 3* player around 600-1000hp to go for the cover but that’s far less than the purchase price.
  • You get 4* from tokens with relative frequency…I don’t actually tract this but it feels like I get around 2-3 of them a month.
  • You get them from daily rewards albeit very slowly

The fact that I’ve been working on Elektra for ~4 months now and haven’t fully covered her yet gives me ample time to actually save up for the ISO costs to fully level the character. Increasing the rate of 4*'s would only serve to make the ISO leveling cost a greater issue as well. Making all of these things easier would lessen the importance of establishing a solid 3* roster in order to transition.

I think the current state of 4* progression is acceptable given the current state of 4*'s (that being that all are terrible at being a 4* except for X-Force and Thor).
Once we see like 15 or more 4*'s with most of them at or above the power level of XF then it might be time to look at the ISO cost of characters at this tier.

A million times this. I hope the Hunt goes to T100 at least, T150 would be better. I have never read an “our alliance is happy it’s only T50!” thread…
