Can’t believe it took me this long to do this. I have a handful of level 40 characters (widow, the dark avengers), some 20’s-30’s, and a few not even off the ground.
Got a good amount of ISO, freed up some roster spots, and now it will be fun to receive those covers with all those standard tokens.
Amazed it took me this long to do this. Not like we ever use those characters. Didn’t dump IM35 just because.

I kept a total of 3 - Black Widow, Storm and IM35 - just in case they ever do another Back to Basics tourney. Otherwise, yeah, they’re all pretty useless by now.
I don’t think I could ever get rid of Modern Storm and Black Widow. Their powers are still good and if they had higher health I’d use them all the time. I still use Modern Storm every once in a while with my maxed 2 and 3 stars.
I did this awhile ago too. The only character I kept was Modern Storm and Modern Widow. But I never use them either, so I would probably sell them if forced into it.
Honestly, some of the two star characters are more pointless (if you have no ISO investment in them). Bullseye, Magneto NOW, Captain America.
Bullseye is pretty good in a DA tournament.
I’m an obsessive collector, so I can’t see selling any off. Actually, I’ve got them all to at least 30th level (Iron Man, Hawkeye, and Storm are 40th), which was probably a minor waste of ISO, but is the artifact of my early “level everyone equally” philosophy that I abandoned at level 30.

I guess … but with Ares, Rags and Moonstone you can still field a competitive team.
Also, the DA tournament only happens every few months (maybe longer next time?), so it’s not really that important to build your roster around.
Same here (collector mentality). The way I see it, most 1* highest level is 40, so it doesn’t take (as) much to max them out, so it’s like a one off.
If I had to sell half of my 28/28 roster I’m sure have kept *Storm. But would not bet on the 50lvl IM35.
Right - there was a point where I was worried I had wasted a lot of ISO, but now it seems like a minor expenditure that occasionally turns out to have been useful. If they run a 1* tournament, I’ll be able to field a decent team right away, and can kick Iron Man and Storm to 50th with little ISO expenditure and field as good a team as anyone.
I can’t do that. I have to have them all.
Honestly, I wouldn’t suggest doing this.
Too many random events make use of random characters for me to suggest deleting anyone you have already invested in.
To do so will handicap you if they are powered up or especially a required team up in PvP or PvE.
The LAST thing you EVER want to have happen is an event happens that makes you want/need to reinvest ISO in them all over again.
I think it really depends on whether you’re willing to pay for the roster slots to keep them around. If you don’t, you’re going to have quite the time keeping up, especially now other HP sinks have been introduced. Mine cost 500 a go now, although I think that’s at more characters than currently exist.
You should always keep M.Storm, but for the rest it’s probably the right thing to do, if you’re frugal. Even if they do a 1* rerun or you would’ve liked Juggs for that DA tournament because no one else is leveled, what, you miss out on a tournament or two? Not a huge deal. Only way I can see it really biting you is if they’re required for a PvE event you want to do well in.
Basically it comes down to this (for me):
One additional cover in a great three star ability (Spidey Blue, Mag Purple, Grey Widow Green, Hulk Black, etc etc) >>> 2 cover slots to keep older/unused characters around “just in case”.
Of course, that equation doesn’t mean anything if you’re willing to spend money on HP. Also, it matters at what point you are in the game and what teams you’re trying to build. There’s probably not many two star covers I would buy outright over a cover slot.
Modern Storm can still destroy you if she gets going, especially in the forest. I also have to keep my collector’s addition 5/5/4 Ironman 35. It’s hard for me to make an argument for anyone else, but I’ll probably keep them unless I really need the space.
Keeping IM35 is the thing I find the oddest.
Hey, I kept Yelena a few weeks longer than I should just because I liked to look at her cover. 
Again, I receive these covers in such a high frequency due to playing in PVP, lightning rounds, etc, that I see myself getting most of them back rather quickly.
And, when was the last time there was an event when you had to use those characters? There’s almost always 3* options (to drive purchase of cover packs, spending HP, etc) which will have TONS more Health, damage, and boosted stats.
The only thing that came to my mind was the Dark Avengers event, but now I have Rags/Ares/Moonstone/Daken high level so I’m not concerned about keeping Yelena and Venom.
Magneto NOW is a decent primer for any char that uses blue. I ran with him and IM40 in the tourney where IM40 was boosted and it was a pretty darn quick killer. Then again, it was much easier to give MN a head start with the blue/purple boost too.
