Kykar, Wind's Fury did not convert 3 gems after losing spirit tokens.

So I threw Kykar into a build with Kaya. Kykar gives the Orzhov Spirit tokens +1/+1 and berserk.
My opponent was Chandra, Roaring Flame. Greg uses Scorching strike to deal 4 damage to all my creatures.
The small stack of Orzhov spirits were destroyed.
At this point I expected 3 gems to be converted to red, but this didn’t happen.
Which is fine since it would have given my opponent a possible advantage.
The wording for Kykar may need to read, "Whenever a Spirit creature you control dies or loses a reinforcement [during your turn], convert 3 gems to Red.

Or, is this a bug.

If the standard Spirit tokens die, 3 gems are converted to red.
If Orzhov Spirit tokens die, no gems are converted.
Also, i put a ton of different spirits into my deck, including Ugin’s vanguard.
The only time the gems are converted are if the standard spirit tokens are destroyed.
